Is the Bullet 350 ES a decent first bike for new riders?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views8 comments
Choosing a first motorcycle is important for new riders because it affects how they learn and how much fun they have with motorcycling. They’re exploring the Bullet 350 ES and that’s considered to be beginner friendly because it’s kind of the classically looks and isn’t too powerful. Opinions are mixed, however, on whether it's good for inexperienced riders. For example, some say its weight, unique handling, and maintenance requirements make it a difficult machine for beginners. Others say that its predictable power delivery and simple mechanics make for a great learning platform. The debate also covers the Bullet's safety features (or lack thereof) compared to more modern bikes, and whether the quirks of the Bullet can lead new riders down a bad path. There's also talk about whether it's best to start on a Bullet and learn riding skills from there or to start on a more forgiving, modern motorcycle.

If learning to drive on a classic car, Starting with a Bullet is the equivalent. It’s cool but you could also miss out on learning how to use some of the modern features that make you a safer rider.

If you have experienced riders at your side to help you along, the Bullet can be a good first bike. Modern bikes are not plug and play, but that is not always a bad thing when learning.

It’s a terrible first bike, I think. New riders should not be wrestling with an old machine, they should be focusing on good habits and skills.

It is not the easiest first bike but it is rewarding. The Bullet makes you learn proper technique and respect the machine. It's not for everyone, though.

I began on a Bullet and I haven’t regretted it. It’s got its quirks, but it made me a better rider. But be ready to jump over a steeper learning curve.

It depends on the rider. If you’re mechanically inclined and you like the classic bike experience, by all means, go for it. It's not easy and it's not hassle free.

I wouldn't recommend it for most beginners, however. But it's heavy, can be temperamental and has no modern safety features. For new riders, there are much better options out there.

If you’re patient and willing to learn, it can be a great first bike. The Bullet is designed to teach you how to ride, not just twist the throttle and go.
