Why not? Tiny Japanese Kei vans are converted into campers by people. India’s version of that is basically the Supro.

The Supro has no way of ever achieving the charm or iconic design of the VW Bus. It's too boxy and utilitarian to ever be appealing like that.

With the right mods it could most definitely capture some of that Microbus vibe. Two tone paint, round headlights and a custom interior would take it a long way.
