How safe is the Hyundai Venue CNG compared to its petrol version?

The real safety issue isn't the car, but the quality of the CNG available. Engine issues caused by poor quality fuel are a safety concern in themselves.
Can the Hyundai Venue CNG be used for Highway trips and long distance travel?

It wouldn’t be my choice for long trips. A real pain is the lack of CNG stations on highways. And you'll end up switching to petrol mode quite often, which is kind of the point.

If you plan your route well, it's actually not bad. I’ve done a few 500 km trips and with a little research on CNG station locations it was a breeze.

It's OK for occasional long trips. If you’re doing lots of highway runs though, you might be better off with the petrol variant for peace of mind.

In the city, I love my Venue CNG, but for long trips, I usually rent another car. The real problem with family vacations is a boot space limitation.

Adapting your driving style is all. After a while you get used to planning your refueling stops and driving more conservatively, and it's actually a lot of fun for long trips.

Long trips have substantial fuel savings. Yes, you need to plan a bit more but the money you save can afford you a nice hotel upgrade at your destination!
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?
03 January 2025 07:04
I honestly don't think it's worth it. Weekend trips and grocery runs require my boot space. It's nice saving the fuel, but not at the expense of practicality.
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?
03 January 2025 07:04
For city use, it's perfect! The fuel savings more than make up for it, and I barely use my boot anyway. Plus, it's eco-friendly!
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?

It depends on your lifestyle. However, if you’re single or have a small family, the reduced boot space may not be a big deal. For larger families or frequent travelers, this is probably a deal breaker.
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?

Hyundai, I think, missed the mark here. The CNG tank should've been designed to fit under the floor, or something. It just feels wrong to lose that much boot space in an SUV.
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?

I switched from a petrol Venue to the CNG variant and the boot space loss is noticeable, but manageable. All you have to do is be smarter about how you pack.
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?

The trade off is a small boot space, but that’s a small price to pay for such massive fuel savings. It’s totally worth it in the long run.
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?

It just seems like it goes against the point of owning an SUV. If I want less boot space, I will just buy the hatchback with CNG.
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG's performance up to the 'SUV experience'?

I've driven the petrol and CNG versions and, honestly, the CNG really doesn't feel like an SUV. It's slow and pulls in the inclines.

It's OK for city driving. Yes, it’s not as peppy as the petrol but it will get the job done and save you money. Can't complain!
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG's performance up to the 'SUV experience'?

I believe people just need to change their expectations. The CNG compact SUV, of course, won’t perform like a turbocharged petrol engine. It's more than adequate for what it's intended for, though.

03 January 2025 07:04
When you want to overtake on highways, the lack of power is really noticeable. But on long trips I wouldn't want to drive, for city use it's fine.
Is the Hyundai Venue CNG's performance up to the 'SUV experience'?

In fact, I prefer the smoother, more relaxed drive of the CNG version. Not everyone wants or needs that powerful SUV experience.
