They're definitely tricky, if you've ever driven one. If you’re not ready, it turns on so suddenly that you can get caught off guard. That's part of the appeal, though, because it's a real driver's car.

The danger is overhyped, I think. Traction is a huge difference today with modern tires. The early ones on pizza cutters were sketchy, but a Gen 5 on good rubber is totally manageble.

It's all relative. It's dangerous, sure, compared to a Miata. Not to old muscle cars with drum brakes and bias ply tires? The Viper is a pussycat.

It is real danger, but that is what makes it special. Not all cars need to be idiot proof. The Viper is something that demands respect, and skill, and that's something that you don't see very often these days.
