I’m a tinkerer, and the NS250 is a bit frustrating. The ECU is quite locked down tight, so it’s very difficult to do any serious engine tuning without some specialized tools.

If you want the NS250 for aesthetic mods, it’s great. It’s got a clean design that’s great for custom paint jobs and vinyl wraps. I've seen some NS250s out there that were seriously sexy.

It's a mixed bag. Changing the sprockets for better acceleration is easy and effective, as are some mods. But things like big bore kits are a bit more complex. Not so much, at least not yet.

I actually prefer the NS250 stock. The factory balance is so good that anything really seems to mess it up. Maybe some minor tweaks, but nothing major.

In fact, the NS250 is surprisingly good for touring mods. I’ve also added a taller wind screen, saddle bags, and a better seat. That has transformed the bike into a great long distance machine.
How does the handling of the Pulsar NS250 compare to its competition?

The NS250 handles like a dream! It has the balance between stability and agility that’s just right. I rode the Gixxer 250, and the NS250 is more confidence inspiring in corners.

I am honestly a bit underwhelmed. Turn in is way sharper and it feels more connected to the road. The NS250 is fine, not great.

The NS250 hits the mark for city riding. It's nimble yet stable enough on open roads, yet nimble enough for tight traffic. Although the Yamaha FZ25 might be a tad more flickable, the NS250 feels more planted.

I think the stock tires let it down, though. The NS250 is a corner carver, but upgrade to some stickier rubber and it’s a corner carving machine. It has the potential, just needs right shoes.

I am coming from a Gixxer 250 and I feel the NS250 is little top heavy. It's a bit of a pain to throw into corners but once leaned over it holds the line beautifully.

Its strongest point is the NS250's handling. It's not as aggressive as the Duke 250, which makes it much more forgiving for less experienced riders, but still fun for the pros.

The NS250 and FZ25 have both had track days with me. In high speed stability the NS250 just edges out the Yamaha, but the FZ25 feels more nimble when changing direction quickly.
Does the Pulsar NS250 fulfill the meaning of the "Naked Sport" in terms of performance?
30 January 2025 10:02
Hell yeah, it does! That perfect mix of usable power and sporty handling is what the NS250 has got. It’s not a track weapon, but there’s more than enough to get your adrenaline pumping on a twisty road.

Honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. A 250cc Pulsar was not expected to have more grunt. It’s quick, yes, but not in the raw, sporty way I was hoping for. In my book, more commuter than sport.

The NS250 is solid for the price point. It is not going to keep up with a KTM, but it is plenty sporty for most riders. It’s also much more comfortable for daily use.

I believe people are missing the point. It's not about performance, it's about the riding experience, and that's the "Naked Sport." It’s not intimidating, but it’s engaging and fun. That's what matters.

Having ridden both the NS200 and NS250, I can assure you the 250 earns its 'Sport' title. It makes a massive difference in highway overtakes and spirited riding.

It's a mixed bag. It's a sporty, eager engine, but the soft suspension means it's not a true performance machine. With a few tweaks, it could truly be what it’s named.
Does the Pulsar NS250 fulfill the meaning of the "Naked Sport" in terms of performance?

I find the NS250 lacking in the sport department, coming from bigger bikes. For new riders or those upgrading from smaller bikes, it might feel very sporty, but for most people, it’s nice. It's all relative.
Is the Bajaj Pulsar NS250 worth the upgrade from the NS200?
30 January 2025 10:02
Absolutely worth it! That said, the NS250 punches a lot harder in the mid range, and that makes a big difference in real world riding. It's not just about how fast you can go, but how quickly you can pass on highways.
