Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011)

About
The Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011) is a well-rounded hatchback that excels in several key areas. It features a 1.2L petrol engine that, while not the most powerful, is well-suited for city driving and offers good driveability. The gearbox is one of the best in its segment, with smooth and precise shifts. The ride quality is exceptional, absorbing bumps and providing a comfortable ride even on rough Indian roads. The interior, though not lavish, offers good support from the front seats and a generous greenhouse that lends an airy feel. Features like height-adjustable driver seats, manual air conditioning, and a multi-information display are notable, though some may find the lack of certain amenities like climate control and keyless entry a bit disappointing. Overall, the Polo Breeze Comfortline is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, comfortable, and fun-to-drive hatchback.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011) is a compelling package that blends German engineering with the needs of the Indian market. While the exterior design is stylish and appealing, the interiors, though functional, lack some of the premium features one might expect from a car positioned as a symbol of German quality. The ride quality and handling are standout features, making it a joy to drive on both smooth and rough roads. The 1.2L petrol engine, though tuned for fuel efficiency, provides adequate power for city driving and is paired with a superb gearbox. However, the absence of features like climate control, steering wheel audio controls, and keyless entry in the lower variants is noticeable. Overall, its a solid choice for those prioritizing driving dynamics and comfort, but it may not be the best fit for those seeking a fully loaded feature set.
Price
The Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011) was priced around Rs. 5.57 lakh ex-showroom in India during its time. When considering the on-road price, which includes additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other taxes, the figure would have been closer to Rs. 6.5 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing positioned the Polo as a competitive option in the premium hatchback segment, offering a balance of quality, performance, and features that justified the slightly higher cost compared to some of its competitors.
Latest Updates
Sunday, 01 June 2014 06:53 PM Safety features in the 2011 Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline included ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, side airbags, and IsoFix child-seat anchors. However, electronic stability control was only standard on the 1.6 TDI model initially, but it became standard across all variants after the mid-2014 facelift. The facelift also introduced automatic post-collision braking. I believe these safety enhancements were crucial for the vehicles appeal.
Sunday, 01 June 2014 09:38 PM Volkswagen introduced various engine changes over the years, but the 2011 Polo Breeze Comfortline retained the 1.4-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. Later models saw the introduction of more efficient 1.2 TSI units, but the initial models stuck with the older engine technology. I believe this transition was necessary to keep up with market demands for better efficiency.
Thursday, 08 September 2011 09:14 PM The Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011) was part of a limited edition release, offering additional features worth up to Rs. 40,000. These features included enhancements that made the vehicle more appealing to buyers looking for a premium feel without the full premium price tag. The limited edition was a strategic move to boost sales and attract more customers. I think this was a clever marketing tactic to keep the Polo fresh in the market.
Thursday, 08 September 2011 12:39 PM In India, the Volkswagen Polo, including the Breeze Comfortline, faced competition from other hatchbacks like the Hyundai i20. While the Polo had better fuel economy and styling, the i20 offered more features as standard. This made the decision between the two models a balance between style, economy, and features. I believe both models had their unique strengths.
Tuesday, 19 July 2011 07:03 PM In terms of design, the 2011 Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline stood out with its sharp lines, revised body, and standard features like fog lights and color-coded mirrors and bumpers. The Comfortline model was particularly praised for its comfortable ride, which rivaled that of luxury saloons. The interior was also noted for its solid build quality and excellent design. I believe the design of this Polo was one of its strongest selling points.
Tuesday, 19 July 2011 02:00 PM The 2011 Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline came equipped with a 1.4-liter engine, producing 63 kW of power and 132 Nm of torque. Although this was less powerful than some of its competitors, the engine was more efficient due to the 16-valve head and the use of a timing chain instead of a cam belt. This change eliminated the need for the expensive 90,000 km service. I think this was a practical move by Volkswagen to reduce maintenance costs.
Tuesday, 19 July 2011 10:00 PM The Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011) was known for its comfortable driving experience, with effortless controls and a smooth ride. The model came with electric features as standard, including heated side rear view mirrors, which proved useful even in non-frosty conditions like in Durban. This attention to detail made the Comfortline a favorite among many drivers. I think the comfort and convenience features were well thought out.
Tuesday, 19 July 2011 12:38 PM The 2011 Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline did not come with some expected features as standard, such as mud flaps, which were available as optional extras. This was a point of contention for some buyers who felt that such basic features should be included. Despite this, the overall build quality and design of the vehicle were highly praised. I think this oversight was a minor flaw in an otherwise well-rounded package.
Wednesday, 20 July 2011 12:56 AM The Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011) was priced competitively, listed at around Rs. 169,000 at the time of its release. It came with a 120,000 km/5-year warranty, although the service plan was optional. This pricing strategy helped Volkswagen to remain competitive in the Indian market. I think the pricing was reasonable given the features and quality offered.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 12:59 PM The Volkswagen Polo Breeze Comfortline (2011) with its 1.2L petrol engine offers a mileage of around 16.47 kmpl, as per ARAI standards. In real-world driving conditions, you can expect a mileage of approximately 13-15 kmpl in city driving and up to 17 kmpl on the highway. This makes it a reasonable choice for those concerned about running costs, especially considering its performance and comfort levels.

Problem in VW Polo engine fan motor noise more even changed new. Paint quality is poor when white tape is sticked two days paint also comes together. Radiator cooling capacity is very less. Lower arm suspension are very weak need to adjust every 35,000 kms. Coolant liquid ducks more. Engine heating is more. Ecm problem makes all electric faults some times. Fuse kits are annual inspection required. Ground clearance need to improve height and under body quality need to increase. Mileage is around 14-16 maximum.

Best Features: Performance and Smoothness. Everything Ok

Pros: Body built quality good. Design and features performance efficiency pickup stylish high grade luxurious car. Loved it more

Cons: Seating groom space is less. Top sunroofs need to provide arm rest and rear Ac vents need to provide. It's sensor based. So all sensor parts must be covered with box. It keep safer sensors.
