Our take on this /// Verdict
The Toyota Etios G petrol is a practical and reliable sedan, but it has its share of compromises. While it offers ample space, with comfortable seating for five adults and a generous 595-liter boot, the interior design is quite basic and lacks the aesthetic appeal of its competitors. The cars build quality is robust, with good fit and finish, and the plastic materials used are durable. However, the cost-cutting measures are evident, particularly in the dashboard and door pads. The driving experience is satisfactory, though the steering feedback is not exceptional, and the noise insulation could be better. Despite these drawbacks, the Etios G is a solid choice for those seeking a dependable and spacious sedan, especially given Toyotas reputation for reliability and good after-sales service.
Price
The Toyota Etios G petrol variant is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for the base J variant starts around 6.11 lakh, while the top-of-the-line VX variant can go up to 9.29 lakh. On-road prices, including taxes and other charges, can range from approximately 7 lakh to 10.5 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes the Etios G an attractive option for those looking for a budget-friendly sedan with the assurance of Toyotas brand value. However, the price difference between variants can be significant, so its important to weigh the additional features against the cost.

The Toyota Etios G was initially launched as part of the Etios series in India, offering features like keyless entry, rear defogger, and power windows. The on-road price of the G trim was around Rs. 7.75 lakh. I believe the Etios G was a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and feature-packed sedan in its segment. | 2011

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has discontinued the production of the Toyota Etios G and other Etios models in India due to the implementation of the new BS6 emission norms. This decision marks the end of the Etios series in the Indian market. I believe this move is a significant step towards adhering to environmental regulations, but it will be missed by fans of the Etios.

The Toyota Etios G was updated in 2018 with the launch of the Platinum Etios Limited Edition. This variant came with additional premium features such as a new paint scheme, dual-tone upholstery, and enhanced infotainment systems. The petrol variant was priced at Rs. 7.84 lakh, while the diesel variant was priced at Rs. 8.94 lakh. I think these updates made the Etios G a more appealing option for those looking for a budget-friendly yet feature-rich car.

In 2016, Toyota introduced a facelifted version of the Etios and Etios Liva, which included the Etios G. The updates featured a refreshed exterior design, new interior elements like two-tone premium interiors, and improved safety features. The facelifted Etios sedan started at Rs. 5.74 lakh, and the Etios Liva hatch started at Rs. 4.76 lakh. I believe these changes helped keep the Etios series competitive in the market.

In 2013, Toyota launched the new Etios and Etios Liva with significant design and feature updates. The Etios G received a redesigned grille with a chrome finish, new indicators on side view mirrors, and a new 2-Din audio system with Bluetooth, USB, and Aux-In. These updates were aimed at making the vehicle more youthful and trendy. I think these changes were a great move to attract younger buyers.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 09:39 PM
The Toyota Etios G petrol variant offers a mileage of around 16-17 kmpl, which is reasonable but not outstanding in its class. In real-world driving conditions, you can expect a fuel economy of about 14-15 kmpl, depending on driving habits and road conditions. This mileage is decent for a petrol sedan, but it may not be the best choice for those highly concerned about running costs, especially when compared to diesel variants which offer up to 23.5 kmpl.
