Synopsis
Tata Venture is a premium people mover sold in India between price range of INR 5.20 lakh to INR 6.10 lakh. With three different variants on offer, Venture is an effective way of travelling long distances in utmost comfort. It comes powered by a 1405cc, 4-cylinder diesel engine with turbocharger and intercooler, producing 69 BHP at 4500 rpm and 135 Nm at 2500 rpm. The engine claimed 15.42 kmpl of mileage as gross vehicle weight is just 10kg short of two ton. All variants share the same basic body that looks squarish from outside but proves easy on user comfort when experienced from inside.
Tata Venture measures 3950 mm in length, 1565 mm in width and 1878 mm in height. Wheelbase measures 2100 mm while seating capacity is impressive at 8 passengers. Healthy 160mm of ground clearance further keeps driver stress free on tough roads and helps Venture move in uneven road conditions without any underbody damage. Venture comes with 33 liter fuel tank and thus, one can expect 400+ kilometers of tank range. Tyre size measuring 14 inch feels small for a car of this height but thick side profile of tyres compensate for the loss of wheel diameter. It comes with decent wheel covers.
Top spec variant is one among loaded options available for commercial and personal use. It comes with all basic comfort enhancing features like air conditioner, keyless entry, power steering, rear defogger, washer and wiper, power windows, dual tone interiors, 4-speaker music system, height adjustable driver seat and much more. Unlike present generation MUVs, Tata Venture lacks the availability of safety features like dual channel ABS, airbags, seat belt pretensioners and parking sensors. This not just makes it tough for driver to safely reverse the vehicle but also put others in danger.
