Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Harrier, even though it does not come in a 4x4 variant, is a formidable contender in the SUV segment in India. Its recent facelift has addressed several key areas, making it a more compelling choice. The addition of modern features such as a panoramic sunroof, a Harman Audioworx sound system, and a 360-degree camera system enhances the overall driving experience. The Electronic Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) has significantly improved the steering feel, making it lighter and more responsive in city driving while retaining its stability on highways. The ride quality remains one of its strongest points, handling rough roads with ease and providing a comfortable ride for both drivers and passengers. However, the lack of a petrol engine option and all-wheel-drive capability might be a drawback for some buyers. Overall, the Harrier is a well-rounded SUV that balances performance, comfort, and features, making it a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and stylish vehicle.
Price
The Tata Harrier is priced competitively in the Indian market, with the ex-showroom price starting at 14.99 lakh and going up to 25.89 lakh, depending on the variant. On-road prices, which include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other taxes, can range from approximately 17.5 lakh to 30 lakh. This pricing makes the Harrier an attractive option in the C-segment SUV market, offering a blend of modern features, robust performance, and premium interiors at a relatively affordable price point. The value-for-money proposition is strong, especially considering the extensive list of features and the vehicles overall build quality.
Latest Updates
Monday, 14 October 2024 03:26 PM Tata Motors is set to launch the Harrier EV in the first quarter of 2025, and it will come with an all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration, marking the companys return to the 4x4 drivetrain space. The Harrier EV will feature a twin-motor setup and a new drive selector with terrain modes such as Normal, Snow, Sand, Rock, and Grass. This AWD system is expected to enhance the vehicles traction and control over various surfaces. I think this will be a significant upgrade for those looking for better off-road capabilities.
Thursday, 10 October 2024 03:31 AM A new design patent filed by Tata Motors suggests that the company might be working on a diesel 4x4 version of the Harrier. This model would use the Land Rover D8-derived Omega Arc platform, which is 4WD ready with minimal modifications. The patent reveals a rotary knob with six terrain modes: Normal, Wet, Rough, Sand, Snow, and Individual. This could be another attempt by Tata to enhance the appeal of the Harrier and Safari models. I believe this would make the Harrier a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment.
Thursday, 10 October 2024 10:49 AM The upcoming Tata Harrier EV and potentially the diesel 4x4 version will feature advanced terrain modes, including Snow, Gravel, Sand, and more. These modes will be controlled by a new rotary knob, indicating that future Tata SUVs will have enhanced off-road capabilities. The ATLAS platform, which underpins the Curvv EV, can accommodate 4x4 configurations, paving the way for more versatile SUVs from Tata. I think this is a great move to compete with rivals like the Mahindra XUV700 and Jeep Compass.
Friday, 20 September 2024 08:08 AM Tata Motors has hinted at launching a new AWD/4x4 model, which is expected to be the Harrier diesel AWD. This model will likely be launched in the second quarter of 2025, following the introduction of the Harrier EV. The new terrain response system will include modes like Normal, Wet, Rough, Sand, Snow, and Individual, improving traction and control over various surfaces. I believe this will be a game-changer for Tata in the SUV market.
Thursday, 15 August 2024 06:18 PM The Harrier EV, set to launch in 2025, will not only feature AWD but also technologies like Vehicle-2-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-2-Vehicle (V2V) charging. This means the Harrier EV can charge gadgets, household utilities, and even other electric vehicles. The inclusion of these features along with the AWD system makes the Harrier EV a highly versatile and practical choice. I think these features will significantly appeal to tech-savvy buyers.
Saturday, 20 July 2024 12:37 PM Tata Motors has confirmed that the Harrier EV will have a driving range of approximately 500 km on a single charge. This, combined with the AWD capability and advanced terrain modes, positions the Harrier EV as a strong contender in the electric SUV segment. The companys focus on both performance and practicality is evident in this upcoming model. I believe this range will make it a compelling option for long-distance travelers.
Monday, 10 June 2024 07:18 PM The design patent for the Harrier EVs drive selector reveals that the vehicle will engage AWD in modes other than Normal, such as Snow, Sand, Rock, and Grass. This suggests a twin-motor setup powering each axle, enhancing the vehicles off-road capabilities. This development marks a significant step for Tata Motors in the 4x4 drivetrain space. I think this will make the Harrier EV highly attractive to adventure seekers.
Wednesday, 15 May 2024 02:38 PM The Harrier EV, along with the Sierra EV, will be among the first Tata SUVs to feature the new ATLAS (Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture) platform that supports AWD configurations. This platform will allow for better adaptability to various terrains, making these SUVs more versatile. I believe this platform will be a key factor in Tatas future SUV lineup.
Saturday, 20 April 2024 09:12 AM Tata Motors showcased the concept of the all-electric Harrier at the Auto Expo 2023 and later at the Bharat Mobility Show. The test mules of the battery-powered mid-size SUV have been spotted several times, indicating that the launch is nearing. The Harrier EV is expected to bring significant advancements in both technology and performance. I think this will be a major milestone for Tatas electric vehicle lineup.
Friday, 15 March 2024 12:48 AM The current Tata Harrier, while not featuring AWD, has a robust design and safety features, including 7 airbags and ADAS. However, the upcoming 4x4 versions, both diesel and electric, will further enhance its appeal with advanced terrain modes and improved off-road capabilities. I believe these updates will make the Harrier a top choice in its segment.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 05:32 PM The Tata Harriers mileage is a significant factor for potential buyers, especially in India where fuel efficiency is a key consideration. The Harrier, powered by a 2-litre diesel engine, offers a mileage of 16.8 kmpl, which is decent for its segment. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient option, the Harrier strikes a good balance between performance and efficiency, making it a practical choice for daily driving as well as long road trips.

Is the Citroen C3 suitable for city driving?
09 January 2024 08:20

Yes, the Citroen C3 is designed with city driving in mind making it an ideal choice for navigating urban environments. It is easy to maneuver through city streets, small parking spaces, and clogged traffic thanks to its small size and agile handling. The automobile is more suited for city driving when its agility is paired with features like a quick steering system. Additionally, the Citroen C3 often comes with a comfortable interior making daily city driving a more enjoyable experience. How is the drive quality of Citroen C3?
09 January 2024 08:17

The C3 soaks up rough roads, potholes, and broken patches in a manner that would make a multiple-time WRC-winning company proud. Which Citroen is! The C3 makes bumps disappear and it doesn’t bob or bounce. The tall sidewalls for the tyres give it added cushioning that lets the C3 just glide over broken roads. It’s absolutely wow on this front! Citroen says that the C3 is meant to be fun to drive too. As it turns out, despite its comfort factor, the C3 isn’t soft and sloppy at high speeds. Sure, the suspension is supple, but it is also controlled. In bends at high speeds, there’s a bit of body roll but then it settles down. It actually feels composed and stable even over 120kmph! So, Citroen’s rally pedigree can be experienced in the way the C3 soaks up bumps and the way it likes to be hustled too.

Which one is the best, Citroen C3 or Toyota Glanza?
09 January 2024 08:16

While each vehicle excels in its own right, the Citroen C3 offers the functionality and room of a compact SUV for the cost of a hatchback that is comfortable on a range of surfaces. But it also lacks several basic equipment such as motorized adjustable mirrors, windshield wipers, and other creature conveniences to which we have grown accustomed from its competition. On the other hand, if you are looking for a hatch that satisfies a lot of needs the Glanza is an excellent option. It has more capacity than several more costly sedans an efficient engine selection, and a respectable features list. Therefore, you can choose the Glanza if a roomy cabin, good features, fuel economy, and power output are your top objectives.

Which car is better, Citroen C3 or Maruti Wagon R?
09 January 2024 08:13

Both vehicles excel in their own fields, but the Citroen C3 offers the room and functionality of a compact SUV for the cost of a hatchback that is comfortable on a range of surfaces. However, it is also devoid of many creature conveniences that its competitors have made us accustomed to, such as electrically adjustable mirrors and windshield wipers. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, on the other hand, is the perfect little family vehicle. It has two engine options is efficient, practical, and capacious. It also has a convenient automatic transmission.
