Skoda has officially discontinued the production of the Rapid in India, with the car being removed from the companys official website. The Rapid is set to be replaced by the new Skoda Slavia. In the later stages of its lifecycle, the Skoda Rapid Diesel Style variant was equipped with a 1.5-litre TDI engine, which provided a good balance of power and fuel efficiency. However, with the BS6 emissions norms, Skoda had to phase out the diesel engines, including this variant. I think the loss of the diesel option was a significant blow to the Rapids appeal, especially for those who valued its performance and fuel economy.

I think this engine-transmission combo was one of the highlights of the Rapid, making it a joy to drive on both city roads and highways.
