About
The Renault Triber Automatic is a sub-4 meter MPV that packs a lot of practicality into its compact frame. It features a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine producing 72hp and 96Nm of torque, paired with an AMT gearbox that offers manual mode for more control. The vehicle is known for its comfortable suspension setup, which balances ride quality and body control well, making it suitable for both city driving and long road trips. The interior is spacious, with the last row seats being completely removable to enhance luggage space. Safety is a strong point, with a 4-star NCAP rating and features like four airbags, ABS with EBD, and a reverse parking camera. The Triber also comes with modern amenities such as an 8-inch infotainment screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and keyless operation. Despite some limitations in engine performance and gearbox smoothness, the Triber AMT is a reliable and practical choice for families and those needing a versatile, budget-friendly vehicle.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Renault Triber Automatic is a practical and versatile vehicle that excels in several key areas, making it a compelling choice for those seeking a budget-friendly, seven-seater MPV. Its ergonomic design and removable last row seats provide ample space for both passengers and luggage, which is particularly useful for family trips and local shoots. The AMT gearbox, although not the smoothest or quickest, offers convenience in dense urban traffic by eliminating the need for a clutch pedal. However, it does come with some lag during shifts and can feel a bit sluggish, especially when pushing the car hard. The suspension setup is commendable, providing a comfortable ride and good body control, even on rough roads. Safety features, including a 4-star NCAP rating, four airbags, and ABS with EBD, add to the peace of mind. While the 1.0-litre engine lacks grunt at full load, it manages to deliver decent fuel efficiency. Overall, the Triber AMT is a solid value-for-money option for those prioritizing space, practicality, and convenience.
Price
The Renault Triber Automatic is priced competitively in the Indian market. Ex-showroom prices range from approximately Rs 6.25 lakh to Rs 7.29 lakh, depending on the variant. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the prices can go up to around Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh. This pricing makes the Triber AMT one of the most affordable seven-seater MPVs available, offering a good balance between features and cost. The additional Rs 40,000 for the AMT version over the manual is reasonable given the convenience it provides, especially in urban driving conditions.

Renault has launched the Triber Night & Day edition, a special variant for the festive season, priced at Rs. 7.00 lakh. This edition is based on the RXL petrol-manual variant and offers some exterior enhancements over the standard model. Its a great option for those looking for a stylish and affordable seven-seater MPV. I think this edition will attract a lot of buyers during the festive season.

The 2024 Renault Triber Automatic has received several updates, including a new Stealth Black paint scheme and additional features like a wireless charger, a digital driver’s display, and a driver’s armrest. However, the powertrain remains unchanged, still using the 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with a 5-speed AMT. I believe the lack of a turbo engine is a missed opportunity for Renault.

Renault India has updated the entire Triber range for the 2024 model year, adding features such as a seven-inch digital instrument panel, TPMS, powered ORVMs, and a reverse parking camera with sensors. The Triber AMT continues to offer solid value for money with its spacious interior and practical storage spaces. However, the AMT gearbox is still slow and not as refined as some competitors.

The Renault Triber Limited Edition has been introduced to celebrate the milestone of 1 lakh sales. This limited edition comes with new dual-tone colors, a statement black roof, and enhanced design cues like a triple edge chrome front grille and styled flex wheels. It also includes features like front and side airbags, a six-way adjustable driver seat, and a reverse parking camera. I think these additions make the Triber even more appealing.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 09:03 PM
The mileage of the Renault Triber Automatic is respectable, given its size and the number of passengers it can carry. In city driving, you can expect around 12-14 kml, while on highways, it can deliver up to 17-19.5 kml. These figures are decent for a vehicle of its class and size, making it a viable option for those concerned about running costs. However, spirited driving can see the fuel efficiency drop slightly, but overall, it remains a fuel-efficient choice.
