The 2025 Nissan Murano is set to debut this winter, featuring a completely new exterior design with 21-inch wheels and a bold, athletic stance. The interior includes a touch-screen display spanning the dashboard, massaging quilted leather front seats, and a panoramic moonroof. The new Murano also boasts advanced tech like the HD Enhanced Intelligent Around View Monitor and Google built-in services. I think this new design will really appeal to those looking for a luxurious and tech-savvy SUV.

Nissan has revealed that the 2025 Murano will be powered by a new VC-Turbo engine, which adjusts its shape to deliver up to 241 horsepower. This engine will be paired with an available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system for improved traction. The new Murano also includes advanced driver assist technologies like ProPILOT Assist. This new engine and tech should make the Murano a compelling choice for those seeking both power and safety.

The 2024 Nissan Murano has dropped its base S trim level, and the panoramic moonroof is now standard on the SL trim. The vehicle retains its classic proportions but features a brand-new design inspired by Nissans modern SUVs, such as the electric Ariya. The interior design includes twin 12.3-inch screens and Google built-in for maps and other apps. I believe these updates will keep the Murano competitive in the mid-size SUV market.

For the 2024 model year, the Nissan Murano will continue to feature a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 260 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque, managed by a continuously variable automatic transmission. The trim options include SV, SL, and Platinum, with pricing starting at $39,255 for the SV FWD and going up to $48,965 for the Platinum AWD. This powertrain should provide a smooth and powerful driving experience.

Nissans 2024 Murano has been recognized for its safety features, including the Nissan Safety Shield 360, which comes standard and includes six advanced safety features such as forward collision mitigation and lane departure mitigation. The 2024 Murano also received the highest 5-Star Overall Vehicle Safety Rating from the NHTSA. This emphasis on safety is a significant selling point for many buyers.

The interior of the 2024 Nissan Murano features high-quality materials and a distinctive design, with comfortable front seats and spacious rear seating. However, it has been noted that the cargo capacity is modest and the vehicle is slower than some of its rivals. Despite these drawbacks, the Muranos upscale cabin and premium materials make it a desirable choice.

Nissan has introduced a new maintenance care program for the 2025 Murano, which includes up to three oil changes within two years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first. This program aims to provide added peace of mind for new Murano owners. I think this is a great move to enhance customer satisfaction.

The 2024 Nissan Murano features advanced connectivity options, including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and available Google built-in services. The vehicle also includes a Head-Up Display for convenient information access during driving. These tech features should make the driving experience more seamless and connected.

The design of the 2024 Nissan Murano has been updated with a trapezoidal radiator grille integrated with the headlight elements and stylish body stampings on the sides. The rear pillars and taillights have also been redesigned, giving the Murano a fresh and modern look. I believe this new design will appeal to those who value both style and functionality.

Nissan has announced that the 2024 Murano will retain its classic proportions but with significant design updates, including a wider body and more shoulder and legroom inside. The new Murano is inspired by Nissans energetic elegance theme and features two-tone paint and a full-width rear lightbar.

Discussions and Questions Nissan Murano
What is it like to live with the Murano in daily family life compared to more traditional family SUVs?
06 January 2025 09:16
With three children I can say the Murano handles family life surprisingly well. There’s enough room in the back seat for car seats and the cargo area swallows up all our gear. It's not as boxy as a Pilot, but that means it doesn't feel as much like a minivan substitute. And the kids like that it looks cool.
Does the Murano's fuel efficiency make it a good choice over a hybrid SUV?
06 January 2025 09:16
I believe the Achilles' heel of the Murano is its fuel efficiency. It’s not terrible, but in 2025, it seems dated. To keep up with the competition, Nissan has to provide a hybrid version. Smooth, the V6 is, but with the fuel costs required to keep it fed, there are just too many more efficient alternatives now.
Is the Nissan Murano’s CVT transmission really as bad as people say?
06 January 2025 09:16
I’ve seen my fair share of CVT problems as a mechanic, but the Murano has tended to fare better than smaller Nissans. It takes less strain off the transmission because of the V6 engine. However, religious maintenance is essential. When you’re buying used make sure there is a solid service history.
The Murano's interior quality and tech features are as good as they get, but how do they compare with luxury brand competitors?
06 January 2025 09:16
The Murano's interior is a classic case of 'jack of all trades, master of none'. On the other hand, it's definitely nicer than most mainstream SUVs, though it's definitely not true luxury. The tech is good, but it's not newfangled. Some finishes feel cheap, but comfort is great. If you want to feel fancy, but don't want to break the bank, it's perfect.
How dated has the Murano’s unique styling become?
06 January 2025 09:16
As a car designer, I have to hand it to Nissan for holding the line with the Murano. It’s not about following trends, it’s about setting them. Although it looks much like any other car in parking lots, the sculpted body and unique light signatures still make it stand out. It, however, ages like a fine wine, not for everyone, but it is distinctive.
