Maruti DZire Review

Expert Review by Maxabout

Overview

The Maruti Dzire is one of India's best-selling compact sedans. The Maruti Dzire is extremely popular because of its unrivalled dependability and Maruti Suzuki's extensive service network in India. Maruti now provides the Dzire with a company-fitted CNG option as well. The third-generation Maruti Suzuki Dzire differs significantly from its predecessor. For starters, Maruti has dropped the 'Swift' from the moniker, leaving only the Dzire. The next generation Dzire now rides on the HEARTECT platform, which debuted with the Baleno hatchback. This has resulted in a much reduced overall weight for the Dzire, resulting in improved fuel economy and a roomier cabin than previously.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Design and Style

Maruti Suzuki designed the Dzire from the ground up to be a sedan, and the results are stunning. The automobile does not look to be a hatchback with a boot attached, and the boot mixes in well with the rest of the design. The majority of the changes made are to the front of the car, and most buyers will be happy with the large chrome surrounding the grille and fog lights. The newly designed headlights, which include LED DRLs and projector headlamps, add to the luxurious appeal of the design. This is the first time the Dzire brand has done something like this. When viewed from the side, the diamond-cut alloy wheels are the most obvious characteristic. The silhouette has also changed, though it will take a keen eye to notice because the change is progressive rather than abrupt. They have totally overhauled the rear, with LED tail lights surrounded by a broad chrome band.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Engine and Gearbox

The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire no longer has a diesel engine option. Maruti has ceased production of diesel vehicles following the BS6 emission standards. They have upgraded the petrol engine over the years, and the latest version employs dual jet technology. This K12N engine produces higher power (90 HP), and thanks to the use of two injectors for each cylinder, fuel economy has improved for the manual type. As before, both manual and AMT gearboxes are available, and Maruti has upgraded the automatic (dubbed the AGS) throughout the years. The engine provides adequate performance for most usage patterns. Maruti has now given the option of a factory-fitted CNG kit in the 2022 Dzire.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

Maruti Suzuki Dzire has a very comfortable ride since it has a McPherson Strut suspension up front and a torsion beam setup at the back. New Dzire achieves a good balance of ride comfort and high-speed agility. The softer suspension provides a more comfortable ride at city speeds. The automobile appears stable up to 120 km/h, but beyond that, a sense of unease creeps in. The front disc and rear drum brakes have a good bite, and the pedal is very comfortable. Because of the soft suspension design, high-speed cornering can cause significant body roll, however, this is not a disadvantage. The Dzire is available with either 165/80 R14 steel wheels or 185/65 R15 alloy wheels with a diamond-cut design on the top trim.

Interior and Instrument Console of Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Step inside the new Dzire's cabin, and it's clear that this isn't the cabin of another Maruti Suzuki vehicle with a few new amenities, but a completely new design. The dual-tone dashboard's blacktop contrasts with the beige lower half. The wood finish on the dashboard and the lower half of the flat-bottomed steering wheel adds to the premium appearance of the cabin. The Dzire is the second compact car with a flat-bottomed steering wheel, following the Volkswagen Ameo. Although placed differently, the touchscreen infotainment system in the centre console is identical to that found in Baleno and Brezza. It also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, making it functionally unique. It has the typical SD Card navigation system, as well as Bluetooth, USB, and Aux-In connectors. The technology is simple to use, and the user interface ensures that even those with less smartphone expertise can use it. There are also two 12V power outlets, one on the lower centre console and the other between the front seats. The front and back door pockets are large enough to carry one-litre bottles while yet allowing for a range of other goods.

Key Features of Maruti Suzuki Dzire

Key features of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire include a new coloured MID, Maruti Suzuki's Smartplay studio infotainment system (which still supports Apple Carplay/Android Auto), and cruise control. Other nice-to-have amenities include rear parking sensors and cameras, keyless entry, auto-folding ORVMs, projector headlights, and automatic climate control. All models include ABS with EBD and dual airbags as standard equipment.

Top Speed and Mileage of Maruti Suzuki Dzire

The claimed mileage of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire Petrol MT is 23.26 km/l, 24.12 km/l for the Petrol AMT, and 31.12 km/kg for the CNG powertrain. The new Dzire's speedometer is calibrated to 220 km/h, but on the road, it is safe not to exceed 120 km/h, however, it can reach 150 to 170 km/h.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Colour Options

The exterior shades of the Maruti Suzuki Dzire are Arctic White, Magma Grey, Premium Silver, Oxford Blue, Phoenix Red, and Sherwood Brown.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire Competitors

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire competes with vehicles such as the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Tata Tigor.

Conclusion

The Dzire is a well-rounded vehicle that is difficult to criticise. Maruti has also delivered a stylistic upgrade in the shape of a reworked fascia with the most recent update. Otherwise, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire remains a car with a powerful engine, is incredibly efficient, has good handling, and is large and comfortable.
