About
The Maruti Suzuki Esteem LX is a compact sedan that was launched in India in the mid-1990s. It features a 1298 cc petrol engine that produces 60 PS of power and 110 Nm of torque, paired with a manual transmission. The car is known for its reliability and durability, making it a favorite among Indian car buyers. The Esteem LX comes with basic features such as manually adjustable mirrors, though only the higher variants like the VX and AX had internally adjustable ORVMs. The cars dimensions, with a length of 4095mm, width of 1575mm, and a wheelbase of 2365mm, make it compact but functional. Despite its age, the Esteem LX held its value well in the second-hand market, a testament to its build quality and Marutis service network. However, it lacks modern amenities and comfort features, reflecting its era of design.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Suzuki Esteem LX, although discontinued, remains a notable name in Indias automotive history. My experience with this vehicle highlights its reliability and value for money, which were key factors in its popularity. However, it also had some drawbacks, such as narrow door openings and a low ground clearance that made ingress and egress challenging, especially for elderly passengers. Despite these issues, the Esteem LX was known for its robust engine, particularly the 1298 cc petrol engine, which provided a decent balance between performance and fuel efficiency. The cars interior, while not luxurious, was functional and well-maintained over the years. Overall, the Esteem LX was a solid choice for those seeking a dependable and affordable sedan, but it may not meet the modern standards of comfort and design.
Price
The Maruti Suzuki Esteem LX was priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this variant was around 4.72 lakh. When considering the on-road price, which includes additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other taxes, it would typically range from 5.5 lakh to 6 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing made the Esteem LX an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers looking for a reliable sedan. However, its important to note that these prices are historical since the model has been discontinued.
Mileage
Friday, 22 November 2024 06:47 PM
The Maruti Suzuki Esteem LX offers a mileage of 15.8 kml, which is respectable for its class. This fuel efficiency makes it a viable option for those concerned about running costs. The consistent mileage across both city and highway driving conditions adds to its appeal as a practical choice for daily use.

Discussions and Questions Maruti Esteem LX
Why Maruti Esteem LXi (2008) has got low mileage?
28 December 2022 13:17
Maruti Esteem LXi returns low mileage because it has a powerful 1298cc, 4-cylinder engine producing 84 BHP and 110 Nm of torque. The engine did not used current date technologies for saving fuel while idling, not revving hard and many other conditions. The car was a gem of its time as it provided a 376 liter boot with good amount of luggage carrying capacity. It was a bit on the higher price side as it measured more than 4 meters and attracted more tax than conventional hatchbacks.

Maruti Esteem LX Discussion
24 Oct is the worst day in my life when i buy Maruti Esteem. I spent 5, 50,000 on that product. That is the first car i buy myself i pay all the down payment and the EMI myself threw my salary. So i am very excited about that. But the response from the car and the after sale service is totally poor.
I am looking for swift diesel but there is two and half month waiting on that, dealer suggest me to buy an esteem. I told them i am driving approx 100 km in a day so petrol expense not fits on my pocket, they suggested me we give you the esteem with a government approved CNG kit with Apra 40,000 Km warranty.
Finally i buy this car on 24th October 2007 from Apra Automobiles Gurgaon. The second day i complaint them i got the power back from that, i haven’t get that power in a/c what i am expecting. But they told me everything is Oks that’s only my thinking. I told them ok but i am not satisfied. Then i drive my friend car i haven’t get that problem in that. Then again i go to Apra service station i told them the same problem but they haven’t listen my problem. Then i complaint Maruti directly. After some days i got a call from Apra, they again recheck but same didn’t except the fault. Then i discuss all this with my friend the advice me to go another service station. Then i go Competent Maruti at Mehrauli. They check the entire car and told me there is a problem in your icwalve and injectors; you have to replace them all. I discuss all this with Apra but they won’t believe. This is only the first problem i am writing. It is very difficult to write all.
Problems currently i am facing
•Tyres bubbling after spent lots of money on balancing and alignment
•Lots of sound from interiors
•Power loss or pickup problem
Suggestion: - Don’t buy any Maruti product, if you want to waste your money them only buy
