General information and overview

The Mahindra Bolero Special Edition 2010 is a seven-seater SUV that has been a staple in the Indian automotive market for its reliability and versatility. Powered by a 2.5L turbo diesel engine, it produces 63 HP at 3200 rpm and 180 Nm of torque at 1440-1500 rpm, making it capable of handling various terrains with ease. The vehicle features a manual transmission with a five-speed gearbox and has a fuel tank capacity of 60 liters. The Special Edition includes additional features such as rear ABS, leather seats, and an all-digital display, enhancing its appeal. With a ground clearance of 180 mm and a robust suspension system, it can navigate through rough roads and small speed breakers smoothly. While it may not be the most stylish or comfortable SUV, its practicality, durability, and value for money make it an attractive option for many Indian buyers.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The Mahindra Bolero Special Edition, particularly the 2010 model, is a robust and practical choice for those seeking a reliable and versatile SUV. From my experience, this vehicle excels in its ability to handle various terrains, making it a favorite among rural and semi-urban users. The Special Edition comes with enhancements such as rear ABS, leather seats, and an all-digital display, which add a touch of modernity to its otherwise rugged design. However, it lacks in terms of comfort and styling compared to more contemporary SUVs. The steering feels large, and the front seats lack under-thigh support, but these are minor drawbacks for a vehicle that offers such durability and value for money. Overall, it is a solid choice for those prioritizing functionality and reliability over luxury and aesthetics.

Its high time that Mahindra should launch an all new lean & mean compact Bolero with exterior dimension of under 4 meter and kerb weight of under 1200 kg and proper 1.4 L diesel engine to make it a machine for the masses.....
