About
The Honda Civic in India is a sedan that stands out for its sleek coupe-like design and futuristic styling. It measures 4,656 mm in length, 1,799 mm in width, and 1,433 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. The car is available in both petrol and diesel engines, though the petrol comes only with a CVT transmission, and the diesel is paired with a manual gearbox. The interior is well-designed with plush leather upholstery, ample storage spaces, and advanced features like a lane watch camera and dual-zone air conditioning. The Civic also boasts a 5-star safety rating with six airbags, ESP, and HSA. Despite its compact boot space of 430 liters, the Civics overall package of performance, safety, and comfort makes it a compelling choice in the D1 segment. However, the low seating position and limited engine-gearbox combinations might be considerations for some potential buyers.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda Civic, particularly in the Indian market, is a vehicle that excels in several areas but also has some notable drawbacks. I find the Civics funky and futuristic styling to be a major draw, along with its top-notch build quality and smooth engine options, including both petrol and diesel variants. The cars handling is fun and sporty, making it a joy to drive, especially on twisty roads. However, the lack of a petrol manual transmission and a diesel automatic transmission is a significant omission, particularly for enthusiasts. The low seating position, while appealing to some, can be a hassle for ingress and egress, especially for older individuals. Additionally, the boot space is the smallest in its segment, which might be a concern for those needing more cargo room. Despite these issues, the Civics safety features, such as six airbags and ESP, and its well-equipped cabin with features like lane watch camera and dual-zone air conditioning, make it a solid choice for those prioritizing safety and comfort.
Price
In India, the Honda Civic is priced between Rs. 17.94 lakhs to Rs. 22.35 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). When you factor in the on-road costs, including taxes and other charges, the price can range from approximately Rs. 20 lakhs to Rs. 26 lakhs, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing places the Civic in a competitive segment, where it faces stiff competition from other sedans. However, the Civics premium feel, advanced safety features, and robust build quality justify the price for many buyers. Its essential to consider the variant and the additional features you might want, as these can impact the final cost.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 06:31 PM
The mileage of the Honda Civic in India is respectable, with the petrol variant offering around 16-17 kml in the city and up to 20 kml on the highway, while the diesel variant provides about 20-22 kml in the city and up to 25 kml on the highway. These figures make the Civic a viable option for those concerned about running costs, especially the diesel variant which is more fuel-efficient. However, actual mileage can vary based on driving conditions and habits.

I just got my new honda civic. I must have waited for atleast 2 years for my dream car. It has amazing acceleration and futuristic interiors. Only drawbacks being low fuel efficiency and low ground clearance. Otherwise amazing car. Those planning to buy, go for the automatic version.
