I have driven both, and I really must say I don't feel that the Scorpio-N is outdated. I like the solid, planted feel of a body on frame over some floaty monocoques.

It's definitely a trade-off. While the Scorpio-N is more rugged, you do notice the difference in handling over something like the XUV700. It is not outdated, it is just different.

As a city driver I find the body on frame construction a bit overkill. It helps the car feels heavier, less agile in traffic. For daily use, I’d like a monocoque.

What makes the Scorpio-N special is the body on frame. It’s not a car like crossover but it’s not trying to be one. If you want that, then buy something else. This is for the people who really want a proper, tough SUV.

I believe Mahindra has managed the pros and cons well. The new Scorpio N is a better handling car than the old one, and still has the benefits of a body on frame.

It's all about perspective. It might feel outdated if you’re coming from a sedan. However, if you have driven older SUVs, you will appreciate that the Scorpio-N is quite refined for a body on frame vehicle.

In fact, I like body on frame construction. If something goes wrong, it's easier and cheaper to repair, which is good for long term ownership.

The Scorpio-N's interior, however, I actually like. And that's fine; it's not trying to be a luxury car. It feels like durable materials and it's easy to clean after a muddy off road trip.

With something as basic as the Scorpio N interior feels, compared to something like the Hyundai Creta. I just wish they’d tried a little bit harder to make it feel special.

For what the Scorpio-N is – a rugged SUV – the interior is fine. If you want soft touch materials all over the place, you're not in the right vehicle.

Mahindra missed an opportunity here, I feel. While they could have kept the rugged feel but made it feel more premium. The new Thar is a good example of this balance when it comes to the interior.

I prefer the Scorpio N's approach as someone who has had both 'premium' and utilitarian SUVs. It ages better than fancy but fragile interiors, and there’s less to go wrong in the long run.

My biggest gripe with the Scorpio-N is the interior. It's okay but they should be charging more for what they are offering. Here, it seems like Mahindra cut corners to keep costs down.

I don’t think people are getting the point. The Scorpio-N’s interior is all about function over form. It’s not attempting to contend with pseudo-luxury crossovers.

I drive a Scorpio N daily in Mumbai and, honestly, it’s not as bad as you’d think it is. Yes, it’s large, but the steering is light and the cameras make a big difference in tight situations.

In older parts of the city, with narrow roads, it's definitely a challenge. I’ve had some close calls in tight lanes. It's great on highways, but a pain in dense urban areas.

I actually bought it because of the size. It’s big, but that’s better for road presence and safety. It's a size you get used to pretty quickly.

I went from a hatchback to the Scorpio N and the size difference was shocking at first. After a few weeks I got used to it, and now I love the commanding view and space.

It's all relative. If you normally drive smaller cars, it will feel huge. However, the Scorpio N is actually very manageable, when compared to something like a Fortuner.

No doubt the size is an issue. For me, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, however. I feel safer on the road and it’s great for family trips.
