Is the Scorpio-N's interior too utilitarian for the competition?

Mahindra Scorpio-N's inner is purposeful and strong design, a combination of metal and leather accents. It does come with the modern whizzbangs like a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver's display, but in the most basic terms it lacks finesse in design and material quality when compared to competitors in the same price bracket. The argument pertains to whether the Scorpio N's inside is sufficiently tasteful in the event that it is, or excessively essential considering the cost point. While some like the straightforward and no nonsense approach, some others feel that it doesn’t provide a premium feel, which is expected in its segment. This discussion also frequently revolves around the expectations of SUV buyers in this price range and whether the Scorpio N's interior matches these expectations, or falls short.

The Scorpio-N's interior, however, I actually like. And that's fine; it's not trying to be a luxury car. It feels like durable materials and it's easy to clean after a muddy off road trip.

With something as basic as the Scorpio N interior feels, compared to something like the Hyundai Creta. I just wish they’d tried a little bit harder to make it feel special.

For what the Scorpio-N is – a rugged SUV – the interior is fine. If you want soft touch materials all over the place, you're not in the right vehicle.

Mahindra missed an opportunity here, I feel. While they could have kept the rugged feel but made it feel more premium. The new Thar is a good example of this balance when it comes to the interior.

I prefer the Scorpio N's approach as someone who has had both 'premium' and utilitarian SUVs. It ages better than fancy but fragile interiors, and there’s less to go wrong in the long run.

My biggest gripe with the Scorpio-N is the interior. It's okay but they should be charging more for what they are offering. Here, it seems like Mahindra cut corners to keep costs down.

I don’t think people are getting the point. The Scorpio-N’s interior is all about function over form. It’s not attempting to contend with pseudo-luxury crossovers.
