Is the Scorpio-N too big to use in cities?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
The Mahindra Scorpio N is a full size SUV with a length of 4662mm and width of 1917mm. These dimensions give it imposing road presence and a generous interior, but they also question its usefulness in urban environments. However, many potential buyers are concerned about how Scorpio-N performs on tight city streets, crowded parking lots and congested traffic. Debate rages about whether its size is a hindrance in day to day city driving and whether the benefits of space and presence outweigh any maneuverability issues. But some say modern features like parking sensors and cameras reduce these worries, while others believe there’s no amount of tech that can make up for the size of the vehicle. That inevitably leads to the discussion of comparisons with smaller SUVs and crossovers that are perhaps more city friendly and whether the Scorpio-N’s other features make it a good choice over other compact options for primarily urban use.

It depends on your city I think. It's fine in a planned city with wide roads. In older cities with tight lanes and limited parking, it really can be a headache.

No doubt the size is an issue. For me, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks, however. I feel safer on the road and it’s great for family trips.

It's all relative. If you normally drive smaller cars, it will feel huge. However, the Scorpio N is actually very manageable, when compared to something like a Fortuner.

I went from a hatchback to the Scorpio N and the size difference was shocking at first. After a few weeks I got used to it, and now I love the commanding view and space.

I actually bought it because of the size. It’s big, but that’s better for road presence and safety. It's a size you get used to pretty quickly.

In older parts of the city, with narrow roads, it's definitely a challenge. I’ve had some close calls in tight lanes. It's great on highways, but a pain in dense urban areas.

I drive a Scorpio N daily in Mumbai and, honestly, it’s not as bad as you’d think it is. Yes, it’s large, but the steering is light and the cameras make a big difference in tight situations.
