Mitsubishi Motors is a multinational automobile company with headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. Hindustan motors have a joint venture with Mitsubishi motors in 1998. Mitsubishi has a production plant in Tamil Nadu, India that makes out-dated models wounded up by Mitsubishi elsewhere. Mitsubishi launched the Pajero Sport in India on March 2012.

The Pajero Sports uses 2.5-liter 16-valve inter cooled turbocharged DOHC common rail direct ignition diesel engine that makes 2477cc of displacement. With the help of 5-speed manual transmission the Pajero can reach a top speed of 190kmph. The intercooler of Pajero allows more air to be pumped to the cylinder for better combustion thus improves efficiency. It also provides efficient air-cooling of the engine. It uses double wishbone with coil spring & stabilizer bar as front suspension and 3-link coil spring with stabilizer bar as rear suspension. It is equipped with hydraulic operated 16-inch ventilated disc brakes in front tyres and 16-inch ventilated drum-in-disc brakes in rear tyres. It has a fuel tank capacity of 70 litres and gives an average mileage of 12kmpl. Its kerb weight is 2065kg and the gross volume weight is 2710kg. It has rack and pinion type power-assisted steering that allows rake & reach adjustments.
The exteriors of this SUV includes chrome plated vertical bar type front grill, rear license plate garnish and a silver front skid plate. The outside rear view mirrors are also chrome plated and supports folding function. The rear windshield is provided with intermittent wiper and washer. It has a high mounted stop lamp and black roof rails. The interiors of Pajero Sports include multi-mode center information display, accessory socket inside floor console box, front cup holders on floor console, front door pockets with bottle holders, sunglass pocket on ceiling and a removable cup size ashtray. All the windows are electrically powered and all the doors have courtesy lamps. The seats of Pajero are provided with Beige leather upholstery and the driver seat has multiple electrical adjustments. The Pajero Sports equipped with music system that supports AM/FM radio, CD and MP3 player. Its air conditioner has climate control feature and provides adequate cooling of the cabin.
This SUV is specially designed for off road capabilities like 36-degree of approach angle, 25-degree of departure angle and 23-degree of ramp break over angle. It also has super select 4-wheel drive system that allows to choose the drive train depending upon the outside conditions like 2H when cruising on highways, 4H (high range 4WD) when driving on slippery roads, 4HLc (4WD high range with locked central differential) when moving off road on rugged & slippery track, 4LLc (4WD low range with locked central differential) when low end torque is required. Pajero Sports makes the minimum turning radius of 5.6 metres thus provides the ability to manoeuvre through tight spaces.
The safety features of this SUV includes extra-strong body construction, ABS with EBD, powerful brakes with vacuum booster, dual SRS airbags, 3-point ELR seat belts in 3rd & 2nd row and rear parking sensors. Mitsubishi Pajero Sports is available in five colors named as Earth Brown, Himalayan White, Pure black, Storm Grey and Iceberg Silver.
