Monday, March 19, 2012Maruti Suzuki recently launched the 2012 model of Maruti DZire, but to cater the taxi market, the company has decided not to discontinue the last generation Swift DZire and it will be sold only to the taxi and fleet operators. The car will be sold as 'Swift DZire Tour' and is available in both petrol and diesel. Swift DZire Tour is available in two variants only - one of petrol and one of diesel. The Swift DZire petrol LXi is priced at Rs. 4.88 lakhs and Swift DZire diesel LDi is priced at Rs. 5.91 lakhs. It is a value for money sedan in its segment from Maruti cradle. Though some may not like the styling and design of old Dzire because the boot of doesn't look well integrated to the body but it is expected that the demand for Dzire Tour will be very high.
Maruti Swift DZire Tour will be sold only to the taxi and fleet operators.
Maruti Dzire Tour is available in two engine options - the 1.2 litre K-Series petrol and the fuel efficient 1.3 litre Multijet diesel engine. Dzire uses the same engines as the swift and there is very marginal increase in weight (30kg) which ensures that the performance is same like the swift. The Petrol engine develops maximum power of 84 Bhp at 6000 rpm with maximum torque of 115 Nm at 4500 rpm and diesel engine develops maximum power of 75 Bhp at 4000 rpm with maximum torque of 190 Nm at 2000 rpm. Both the engines feel very refined and have enough power with reasonable mileage.
