Honda Jazz Diesel VX 2015 Review

24 Jun, 2015 09:55 PM

Once discontinued, the Honda Jazz is back with an all new approach. It wasn't considered good as the only engine option back at that time was petrol and the rising prices of petrol washed away all the dreams of Honda with its Jazz.

Honda understood the need for diesel powered cars and the resultant, the new Honda City i-DTEC made a great impact on the sedan segment. The same magic was created by Amaze sedan and now the powerful diesel engine has got its way into the all-new 2015 Honda Jazz. This time it will surely make an impact on the competitors, as the Honda diesel engine has really proved its worth to the customers.

Honda Jazz has always been cool when compared to the others in the segment. It looks bigger than most of the competitors and side by side, proves to be more spacious and good looking too. The new version gets many changes, making it more attractive than before. The front resembles the Honda City whereas the rear has its whole new definition.

The shiny black grill on the new Jazz accompanies the small chrome lining below itself, making it a decent looking hatch. No extraordinary cuts and curves have been given to the car, making it an ideal choice of versatile age groups. The rear houses a totally different design, with chrome lining running through the body width above the license plate, with the Honda symbol in its center.

Neatly designed, full black interior of the new Jazz will be one of the major attractions to the vehicle. Fully equipped with latest technologies, the Jazz houses everything the new city has in itself. The dual shade premium looking interior will be swapped for the all black sporty interior.

The features like fully automatic temperature control with feather touch buttons, touch screen infotainment system with navigation and the properly placed push start button makes it a feature rich offering in the hatchback segment. The interior seems spacious and a satisfactory ride is guaranteed by Honda every time you take it out for a spin.

Engine & Performance

The Honda Jazz will be reaching us with two engine options. As usual it will use its 1.2 liter i-VTEC producing 88.75 BHP and 110 NM. The engine it perfect for a powerful drive but lacks the mileage factor considered by more than 90 percent of the buyers. The other motor will be the most considered one, the 1498 cc diesel engine, carried from the Honda City and Amaze.

The motor is very responsive while performing and return a 26.3 kmpl mileage when driven for achieving maximum out of it. The engine produces 98.6 BHP and 200 NM of torque. The gearbox mated to the motor will be a 6-speed manual, as no one in the segment offers an automatic for the diesel engine. CVT will be offered in the top end petrol variant.

The new Honda Jazz comes fully loaded will all the comfort enhancing features like automatic temperature control and a 6 inch touchscreen for better aid while driving. The love for music has also been taken care in the new car, providing all the options like AUX, USB and Bluetooth connectivity to the passengers.

The car comes with a lot of space in its interior, making it easy to have 5 people into the car and the ride quality and stability helps in making all the kilometres look small while traveling. The parking sensors make it easy to park the vehicle even in the smallest possible places. Overall, the car will be praised for its best in class features soon after it arrives.

Being at the upper end of the hatchbacks, the car is expected to be loaded with all the possible safety features available in its segment. It carries 2 airbags for the unexpected times; the car will also feature ABS and EBD. It is expected to be made in such a way that the impact of the collisions should get minimal for the passengers, giving them a peace of mind every time they ride. Seat belts for each passenger will be provided with pre-tensioners. The 175/65R15 tyre size for better road grip would be used in the new comer.

Variants & Shades

The Honda Jazz is expected to be in E, S, SV, V and VX variants, with both petrol and diesel variants adding up to a total 10 in number. The shades for the new car include Black, White, Red, Yellow and Orange, with proper names yet to be disclosed by Honda.

Expected Ex-showroom Price

The Honda Jazz is expected to be priced between INR 5.5-8 lakh, making it easy for the customers to decide between the diesel or petrol version. The diesel version will surely rock the scene as Honda's brand value attached to the 1.5L diesel motor in a hatchback will surely make an exciting combination.
