Triumph India to Start Sales in 2013

Triumph India is going to start sales in 2013. Initially, the company had planned to start its Indian operation in 2012 itself but got delayed due to unknown reasons. The UK based motorcycle manufacturer, had showcased its models for the Indian market at the New Delhi Auto Expo in January. It will introduce 7 models in India initially; Bonneville with a starting price of Rs 5.5 lakh, Tiger 800XC, Street Triple at Rs 5.75 lakh, Speed Triple, Daytona 675 at Rs 7 lakh, Storm and Rocket III Roadster. Initially, it will bring the motorcycles as Completely Built Unit (CBU). Triumph plans to bring these motorcycles after setting up an assembly plant as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) kits, for competitive pricing. Triumph has plans to appoint one dealer each in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, followed by 12 dealerships over 3 years.
