TVS Introduces New Models in India for 2024

As we says goodbye to an eventful 2023 filled with new launches and updates from TVS, the Hosur-based manufacturer is gearing up for an equally exciting 2024. Here is a glimpse of what we can expect from TVS in the coming year:

1. TVS iQube ST

TVS introduced the iQube ST in January 2023, generating considerable anticipation. However, the launch of the top-end variant faced delays. In 2024, we anticipate TVS to finally unveil the price and initiate deliveries of the iQube ST.

The iQube ST comes equipped with a revamped and more potent Li-ion battery boasting a capacity of 4.56kWh. This enhancement results in an increased claimed range of 145km in economy mode and 110km in power mode. Charging capabilities include a 0-80 percent charge in 4 hours and 6 minutes on a 950W charger, and 2 hours and 30 minutes on a 1500W charger.

In terms of performance, the iQube ST claims a top speed of 82kmph, surpassing the base iQube and iQube S variants, which have a top speed of 78kmph.

While the ST variant mainly focuses on performance and features, the scooter's underpinnings remain unchanged. The only notable difference is that the ST variant will be the heaviest among the three, weighing around 128kg—an increase of approximately 10kg compared to the iQube S (118.8kg) and 11kg more than the iQube base model (117.2kg).

2. Ronin-based Cruiser

TVS has been diligently working on a cruiser bike based on the TVS Ronin, aptly named 'Zeppelin.' Design patents for this upcoming cruiser have recently surfaced online, confirming its existence. TVS provided a glimpse of what to expect with the unveiling of a bobber version of the Ronin at the 2023 MotoSoul event.

The Zeppelin is expected to share design similarities with the Ronin but will exhibit a distinctive cruiser character. Anticipated features include forward-set footpegs, a redesigned exhaust setup extending outward, and a lowered seat aligning with classic cruiser styling.

Performance-wise, the Zeppelin is not expected to deviate significantly from the Ronin. Both bikes will share the same 225cc air-/oil-cooled engine found in the Ronin, delivering 20.4PS and 19.3 Nm. However, the tuning is expected to differ, offering a laid-back feel in harmony with the cruiser's character.

The new cruiser is likely to be launched in the second half of 2024, entering the competitive arena against popular models like the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the Yezdi Roadster.

With these anticipated debuts TVS promises an exciting year ahead appealing to the interests of both electric car enthusiasts and cruiser devotees. The addition of the cruiser class to TVS's extensive lineup piques the interest of the brand's fans. TVS fans are in for an exciting ride!
