Toyota Recalls 269 Land Cruiser 300 SUVs in India

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a voluntary recall for its premium SUV, the Land Cruiser 300, due to a concern with the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) software of the automatic transmission. A total of 269 SUVs built between February 12, 2021, and February 1, 2023, are covered by this recall. Fortunately, no reports of events involving the impacted software have been received.

Nature of Recall

For the automatic gearbox to function at peak efficiency and adhere to safety regulations, the ECU software must be reprogrammed as part of the recall. While bookings for the Land Cruiser 300 are currently paused, customers need not worry as the SUVs can still be used until the software update is completed.
