Known by the name Interceptor 650, first one of them is a retro modern machine while Continental GT 650 is a perfect cafe racer with design resemblance to the present generation model. Both the bikes are powered by a 648 cc, twin cylinder engine producing 47 HP at 7100 rpm and 52 Nm at 4000 rpm.
The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox for the first time on a Royal Enfield. They have made the new engine effectively lighter than all other engines on use, helping Continental GT claim just 198 kg of kerb weight. Interceptor 650 carries a bigger seat as well as fuel tank, claiming 202 kg of weight and still effective 174 mm of ground clearance.
