Volkswagen has expanded the color options for its Taigun and Virtus models, introducing the Deep Black Pearl exterior shade to the Topline variants. Initially launched with the GT Line variants in June 2023, this stylish color choice is now available for the 1-litre versions of both models, provided they are in the Topline trim, which comes with additional features. Opting for the Deep Black Pearl variant adds an extra Rs 32,000 to the Virtus and up to Rs 25,000 to the Taigun. Notably, the 1-litre Deep Black Pearl variants start at a price point up to Rs 2.2 lakh lower than their respective 1.5-litre models.

The Topline trims for both the Virtus and Taigun offer a plethora of amenities, including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-inch digital driver’s display, a single-pane sunroof, powered front seats, cruise control, illuminated footwell, and a comprehensive safety package featuring 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a rearview camera, and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers.

Under the hood, both cars are powered by a 1-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 115 PS and 178 Nm, coupled with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter. Additionally, they offer a more potent 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine (150 PS / 250 Nm) option with GT variants, available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

In terms of competition, the Volkswagen Virtus goes head-to-head with the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Ciaz. Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Taigun faces off against rivals like the Skoda Kushaq, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, and Citroen C3 Aircross.
