Hyundai Alcazar Facelift Spied in South Korea, India Launch Soon

After unveiling the refreshed Hyundai Creta in early 2024, the South Korean automaker is preparing to launch the updated Alcazar 3-row SUV in India. The new Hyundai Alcazar has been spotted undergoing tests in South Korea, with an expected Indian launch by the end of 2024.

Spy Shot Insights

The test vehicle was heavily camouflaged, but it was evident that the updated Alcazar will sport a different front design compared to the facelifted Creta. However, it will retain signature Hyundai design features such as a split-headlight configuration with the LED daytime running light strip positioned above the reimagined grille. While the sides of the updated Alcazar have not been fully revealed, new alloy wheel designs are anticipated. The rear is expected to feature vertically arranged LED taillights, further distinguishing it from the new Creta. The dual-tip exhaust system will remain as seen in the current model.

Interior and Feature Expectations

The interior of the updated Alcazar has yet to be unveiled, but it is likely to draw inspiration from the new Creta's cabin design. The SUV will continue to be available in both 6-Seat and 7-seat configurations. Hyundai may equip the 2024 Alcazar with two 10.25-inch digital displays (one for the instrument cluster and the other for infotainment) and introduce dual-zone air conditioning from the new Creta.

For safety, the updated Alcazar is expected to feature six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, and the advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite from the Creta, which includes features like autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.

Powertrain Options

Hyundai is set to offer the updated Alcazar with the same engine and transmission options as the current model:

  • 1.5-litre Turbo-petrol: 160 PS power and 253 Nm torque
  • 1.5-litre Diesel: 116 PS power and 250 Nm torque

Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) for the turbo-petrol engine, and a 6-speed automatic for the diesel engine.

Pricing and Competition

The starting price for the updated Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be around Rs 17 lakh. The current model is priced between Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 21.28 lakh. The updated SUV will continue to compete with the Mahindra XUV700, Tata Safari, and MG Hector Plus in the Indian market.
