Hyundai's Alcazar is set to receive a facelift in 2024, following in the footsteps of the recently updated Creta. The anticipated launch date is around June 2024, with test mules of the facelifted Alcazar already spotted. Exterior Design and Features
Drawing inspiration from the refreshed Creta, the new Alcazar will feature design elements that add a touch of sophistication and style. While Hyundai aims to maintain a unique identity for each model, subtle similarities between the Creta and Alcazar facelifts are expected. Look for a more upscale appearance with chrome accents adorning the front fascia including a distinctive front grille, headlights, and bumpers. However, there's speculation that Hyundai might opt for a more aligned design approach between the two models, blending their visual identities seamlessly.
Observations from sightings of Alcazar facelift test mules suggest similarities in LED daytime running light (DRL) signatures with the Creta. On the sides, expect the Alcazar to sport exclusive alloy wheel designs, likely featuring larger 18-inch wheels for a commanding presence on the road. At the rear, connected LED taillights reminiscent of the Creta's design language are anticipated, adding a touch of modernity to the SUV's rear profile.
Interior Design and Features
Inside the cabin, the Alcazar facelift is expected to mirror the updated layout of the new Creta, promising a modern and comfortable environment for occupants. Twin horizontal displays, one dedicated to infotainment and the other serving as an instrumentation cluster, will adorn the dashboard, offering intuitive access to various functions and information. Moreover, improvements like a two-zone climate control panel, a revised steering wheel, and an updated center console are probably going to improve the interior atmosphere and bring it into line with the Creta facelift's upscale vibe.
Upgraded Features and Powertrains
The previous refresh of the Alcazar brought about notable changes to its powertrain options enhancing performance and efficiency. With the discontinuation of the 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine, the Alcazar now offers a more potent 1.5L turbo petrol engine generating 160 PS and 253 Nm of torque. Additionally, buyers can opt for the reliable 1.5L turbo diesel engine, delivering 115 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. A 6-speed manual, a 6-speed torque converter, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission are available to accommodate a range of driving needs and preferences.
In terms of features, the Alcazar facelift is poised to inherit several enhancements from the Creta facelift, including the Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, sequential LED turn indicators, an electronic parking brake, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (IRVM), and the Hyundai Blue Link telematics suite.
Price Expectations
Currently positioned between Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 21.28 lakh, ex-showroom, the Alcazar offers excellent value for money in its segment. However, with the introduction of the facelifted version, a slight price revision can be anticipated to reflect the upgraded features and enhancements, ensuring that the Alcazar remains competitive in the market while offering an enhanced ownership experience to customers.
