Husqvarna is set to unveil the much-anticipated Svartpilen 801 on March 19. This new model is built on the same platform as the KTM 790 Duke sharing many of its components but with a few distinct differences.

Key Specifications

  • Engine: The Svartpilen 801 is powered by the same 799cc, parallel-twin engine found in the KTM 790 Duke, capable of producing 105 horsepower.
  • Transmission: It features a 6-speed gearbox with a standard bi-directional quick-shifter.
  • Weight: Husqvarna claims a weight of 181 kg for the Svartpilen 801, although it is unclear whether this is the dry or kerb weight.

Design and Features

The design of the Svartpilen 801 is reminiscent of the smaller Svartpilen 401, featuring a round LED headlamp with an integrated DRL ring and a flyscreen at the front. The prototype also sports a headlight grille and bash plate which are expected to be included in the production version.

The bike utilizes the same tubular chassis as the KTM 790 Duke but is equipped with adjustable WP suspension units at both ends. The Svartpilen 801 also features a unique five-spoke alloy wheel design fitted with dual-purpose tires.

In terms of technology, the Svartpilen 801 is expected to come with a TFT dashboard displaying Husqvarna-specific graphics and a comprehensive suite of electronic rider aids similar to its KTM counterpart.

Availability in India

Currently, there are no plans to introduce large-capacity, multi-cylinder KTM models in India. Consequently, it is highly unlikely that the Svartpilen 801 will be available in the Indian market anytime soon, unlike its smaller sibling, the Svartpilen 401.
