Honda Amaze New Generation Expected to Launch Around Diwali

Honda’s compact sedan, the Amaze, is set for a complete overhaul in the near future. The upcoming third-generation Amaze will supersede its second-gen counterpart, which has been on the market since 2018. Anticipated to hit the market around Diwali 2024, the new Amaze promises a host of updates and enhancements.

Platform and Design

The third-gen Amaze is slated to adopt the platform shared with the City and Elevate models, albeit with modifications tailored to its unique requirements. A key alteration includes a shorter wheelbase compared to the City and Elevate, aiming to keep the overall length below four meters. In addition to streamlining Honda's offering in India this strategic move offers possible cost savings through economies of scale.

Exterior and Styling

While specific details about the new Amaze's exterior remain scarce, sources suggest that Honda will maintain its signature design language, aligning it with larger Honda sedans sold internationally. Drawing inspiration from models like the Accord, the third-gen Amaze is expected to blend style and sophistication, much like its predecessors.

Interior and Features

Anticipate a revamped cabin layout for the third-gen Honda Amaze, potentially featuring an expanded, standalone touchscreen interface akin to that found in the Elevate. To optimize cost-efficiency, Honda may incorporate interior components shared with other models in its Indian lineup ensuring a balance between quality and affordability.

Powertrain

The forthcoming Amaze will exclusively offer petrol-powered variants, following Honda's decision to discontinue diesel engines in India. It is anticipated to retain the reliable 1.2-liter, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine from its predecessor. This engine can be mated to an automated CVT transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission producing 90 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque.

Launch Timeline

Honda plans to introduce the new Amaze in the latter half of the year, with a likely debut around the Diwali 2024 season. In the compact sedan market, the third-generation Amaze is positioned to compete with models such as the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor. Its goal is to draw in buyers who are looking for a balance between features, performance, and money.
