Maruti Suzuki Jimny Exports Commence from India: As per a recent report by NDTV, Maruti Suzuki has commenced the export process for the new-gen Jimny off-roader from India to other markets. The first shipment that comprises of 184 units of the made-in-India Jimny was flagged off from the Mundra Port in Gujarat to Latin American countries of Peru and Columbia.
Maruti Suzuki has revealed that their compact off-roader will also be exported to other parts of the Middle East, Latin America, and African markets from India. The export to other countries pings us with a question that when will Maruti introduce the new Jimny in the Indian markets?

Speaking on the special occasion, Kenichi Ayukawa, MD & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said: "Jimny will fulfil aspirations of its customers throughout the world. The new Maruti Suzuki Jimny is a three-door compact SUV that is being exported from India in the same specification as that of the Japanese version. The off-roader approximately measures 3645mm in length, 1645mm in width, and 1720mm in height. The next-gen model is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard while a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox is also being offered as an option.
Maruti Suzuki aims to increase their position in the global production stature with the set up of Jimny's production in India. Indian manufacturing will help in supplementing the capacity to meet the global demand for the model. The current-generation Jimny was launched in 2018 globally and was showcased in India for the first time at the 2020 Auto Expo. As we reported earlier, India would be getting the 5-door version of Jimny and it is expected to launch in 2022.
