Yamaha Bikes at Auto Expo 2018: Yamaha fans would feel delighted to know that Auto Expo 2018 will bring them the finest racing machines of lightweight sport bike segment around the world. Here I am talking about none other than Yamaha R15 V3 and R3 for India, both proving themselves as segment winner with extraordinary engine performance and class leading ride quality. It is also being reported that Yamaha is planning to introduce an all-new 125cc scooter based on the popular Nozza Grande, which actually looks similar to India spec Fascino. So, it’s safe to expect a scooter that is actually Fascino’s face-lift with a bigger 125cc engine. Engine on the R15 V3 comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. Yamaha is using variable valve actuation, fuel injection and liquid cooling on their lightest sport machine. It has been spotted at various occasions in different shades and lacks the use of USD forks as the south Asian markets. It will have no direct rival till the arrival of Honda CBR150R in India and could get a price tag of around INR 1.20 lakh. It seems that Auto Expo 2018 will mark the entry of R3 in India with a BS4 compliant engine. As Yamaha will localize the 321cc motorcycle, it seems that pricing could be even better than the last version. The twin cylinder engine is good for 41.4 BHP at 10,750 rpm and 29.6 Nm at 9,000 rpm. It weighs just 169 kg, making it lighter than all other motorcycles of this segment.
