Are people exaggerating about how bad the VF3 is or are they being too hard on it?
Online, the VinFast VF3 has been getting a lot of flak, dubbed a 'shitbox', a 'death trap' and a 'Chinese ripoff'. But is this criticism fair? However, some argue that for its price point and as a city car, it’s really not that bad. Some say it's dangerously underpowered, and poorly built. It’s also controversial as to whether it’s even safe to use highways. It’s difficult to know what to believe when there are such polarizing opinions. Is there something wrong with it, or are people hating on it just because a newer brand made it? Now lets hear some balanced perspectives on whether the VF3 deserves all the hate it's getting.
Now, I know that its no luxury car, but to call it a 'death trap' is completely over the top. It's fine for zipping around the city. Not everyone needs a speed demon or a tank.
Have you seen the specs? One minute max speed: 100 km/h. That’s not just bad, it’s dangerous. There’s no business for this thing to be on any road with real traffic.
It is just cheap transportation. If you're expecting Ferrari performance for Vespa money, you are going to be disappointed. Judge it for what it is.
The problem is not just performance, it’s safety. Is the battery protected by thin aluminum? No thanks, I choose life.
They’re being way too harsh. In a market that badly needs them, it's an affordable EV option. It’s not perfect, but it’s a step in the right direction.
Step in the right direction? More like three steps back. It's a dangerous precedent of what we can get away with in terms of quality and safety in this car.
I believe the truth is somewhere in between. It's not as bad as haters make it out to be, but it's also not as good as VinFast wants us to believe. Buyer beware.
