Mahindra is gonna lean hard into their off road expertise, I bet. What if there was an electric supercar that could also tackle serious trails? For sure, that'd be a unique selling point.

No, they need to focus on the basics first. Maybe they could do something cool with the interior materials? Similar to using sustainable fabrics that are specific to India. That would give it that special touch.

What about some kind of advanced cooling system? If they can solve the problem of battery performance in extreme heat given India’s climate, that’d be huge.

If they added some solar charging, what then? Integrated solar panels that could sort of extend the range a little bit. It would be a cool feature, but it probably isn't much.

I’d be happy to see them take the pledge to push the envelope on fast charging. That would be a huge selling point if they could get charge times down to like 5-10 minutes.

And why is there no AI co pilot system? And like, advanced driver assistance that learns your preferences and learns to drive the way you drive. That could be pretty cool.

They should embrace connectivity. Perhaps, the car could be plugged into smart home systems or have something built into it from the start that allows it to work with ride-sharing or car-sharing.

It's totally a gimmick, come on. Mahindra is making a super expensive electric sports car, and who’s gonna buy it? Instead of becoming the Indian Tesla, they should be making affordable EVs for the masses.

I think it's a bit of both. It’s a marketing move, sure, but it could also open the door to some actual innovations. Do you remember the Tata Nano, which stretched the limits of low cost manufacturing? EV tech could do the same.

India is not ready for a high performance EV, let’s be real. Regular EVs can’t even handle our roads and charging infrastructure. But it feels like Mahindra is trying to run before they can walk.

You guys are not getting it. That's not about selling a ton of these cars. It’s about changing the way people see things. If Mahindra can pull this off, the Mahindra brand will be showing that Indian companies can innovate at the highest level.

Is it so bad that it’s even marketing? It gets people excited about EVs, and might even inspire a new generation of engineers and designers. A moonshot from time to time can make things move forward.

We shouldn’t get too far ahead of ourselves. You can’t erase decades of perception with a fancy car. That's not going to convince people Indian engineering is on par with German or Japanese automakers.

It's a step in the right direction, but we should be realistic. Mahindra's still got a long way to go before they're seen as a serious competitor to Tesla or Porsche, but it might turn some heads.
