With Mahindra gearing up to enter the high end electric vehicle market with their halo car, there has been a lot of speculation about what new features or innovations they will bring to the table. It's not just about competing with the competition, but maybe it's a case of being able to offer something different, that makes their vehicle stand out. It covers everything from the advancement of the technology in battery or motor design, to new applications of sustainable materials or manufacturing methods. Also being considered is how Mahindra could use their experience in other industries, or their knowledge of emerging markets, to create unique selling points. Others wonder if they can use elements of Indian culture or Indian design philosophy in a manner that appeals to a global audience. It also raises the question of whether Mahindra would aim to distinguish itself in the market with some other performance attributes, such as extreme off road capability or ultra fast charging. They’re also hoping that there’s some kind of software innovation or unique ownership experience that sets them apart in a crowded market.

Mahindra is gonna lean hard into their off road expertise, I bet. What if there was an electric supercar that could also tackle serious trails? For sure, that'd be a unique selling point.

No, they need to focus on the basics first. Maybe they could do something cool with the interior materials? Similar to using sustainable fabrics that are specific to India. That would give it that special touch.

What if they went all in on modularity? Imagine, if you could easily swap out the battery pack or even the electric motors. Longevity and upgradability would be a game changer for that.

I believe they should concentrate on software. That could be a big differentiator if they can nail the user interface, and make it super intuitive. Still, most car companies suck at software.

What about some kind of advanced cooling system? If they can solve the problem of battery performance in extreme heat given India’s climate, that’d be huge.

If they added some solar charging, what then? Integrated solar panels that could sort of extend the range a little bit. It would be a cool feature, but it probably isn't much.

Perhaps they could do something crazy with the sound design? What if Mahindra made the car more engaging to drive with unique, customizable sound profiles that electric cars are so quiet?

I’d be happy to see them take the pledge to push the envelope on fast charging. That would be a huge selling point if they could get charge times down to like 5-10 minutes.

And why is there no AI co pilot system? And like, advanced driver assistance that learns your preferences and learns to drive the way you drive. That could be pretty cool.

They should embrace connectivity. Perhaps, the car could be plugged into smart home systems or have something built into it from the start that allows it to work with ride-sharing or car-sharing.
