I would say that it is worth it just for the uniqueness factor. It’s a conversation starter wherever you go, and you don’t see many on the road.

Overkill for sure. Most of the time I forget they’re even there. Those electronic nannies aren’t necessary for a skilled rider.

When they work, they’re great, but I’ve had problems with false alarms and glitches. Sometimes simpler is better.

It’s worth it just for the semi-active suspension. The ability to change the character of the bike on the fly is awesome for the varied conditions of riding.

I think it's a bit much. I like riding analog. And not only that, but more electronics means more stuff that can break.

I can say as an owner of both the R and the GT, the GT is just as beastly but more usable day to day. This is a beast you can live with.

I find it too refined. What I want is a bike that scares me a little. It is fast, but no longer does it have that raw edge.

Mine I use for commuting, and it's rather docile in urban mode. The real benefit is that you can sit more upright and enjoy the comfort of the ergonomics in comparison with pure sportbikes.

Commuting definitely requires overkill. In city traffic you'll never use even half its potential. It’s also expensive to maintain and insure. Go get something more practical for daily use.
