Is the electronics package on the KTM Super Duke GT overkill or a game changer?

The KTM Super Duke GT comes standard with an impressive electronics package, including lean-angle sensitive traction control, cornering ABS, multiple riding modes, semi-active suspension, and even hill hold control. These features, though they are certainly nice, definitely take away from the pure riding experience, some riders argue. Long-term reliability and maintenance costs of these complex systems are also in question. But supporters say that these electronics help riders push their limits more safely, letting them adapt the bike to different riding conditions. In this article, we will take a look at whether these high-tech features really add to the riding experience or if they are just fancy gimmicks.

It’s a game changer for the electronics. Without them, you ride faster and safer than you ever could. It’s like having a safety net that won’t get in your way until you need it.

Overkill for sure. Most of the time I forget they’re even there. Those electronic nannies aren’t necessary for a skilled rider.

I still wasn’t a believer, not at first, but after riding in the rain with the traction control, I am. It's like having superpowers.

When they work, they’re great, but I’ve had problems with false alarms and glitches. Sometimes simpler is better.

It’s worth it just for the semi-active suspension. The ability to change the character of the bike on the fly is awesome for the varied conditions of riding.

I think it's a bit much. I like riding analog. And not only that, but more electronics means more stuff that can break.

If you use it, it’s not overkill. The personality of the bike changes depending on the riding modes. It’s kind of like having all your bikes in one.

The electronics are great for getting up to the edge on track days. And they give you the confidence to lean a little further, brake a little later.

After the first month, I turned most of it off. It's nice to have, but not required if you already know what you're doing.
