• POLO GT TSI come with the DSG transmission; which has issues with its mechatronics. Its transmission typically fails post 30000 kms + or -. VW is aware of the issue and so are the service center folks, however the recalls are expensive and easier to avoid in a market like India and so currently the dealers are telling customers that the transmission failed due to impurities in the fuel and are not even honoring the warranty that comes with car. Has someone gotten it covered under warrantty??? yeah sure! but not without a good fight with service center and VW management in Mumbai
• And so the final verdict is avoid VW at all costs till they fix the after sales issues and reduce cost of their parts and offer a transparent service. Besides ford's 6 speed transmission is best in its class. I have driven the car and I feel that the transmission works very well with quick gear shifts, however it works well in Figo Aspire and possibly the Figo Hatchback; doesnt work so well with Ford Ecosport
