The base model of Ford Ikon was once sold for a price of INR 4,90,000. It was discontinued due to poor sales of the car from the Ford outlets. It came with a 1597 cc, 4-cylinder engine producing 92 BHP @ 5500 rpm and 130 NM @ 2500 rpm. The gearbox to the car was a 5-speed manual unit and Ikon returned a mileage of around 13-14 kmpl. The car gets a top speed 160 kmph and has a 45 liter fuel tank. It came with an air conditioner and power steering for a comfortable ride. The interior of the car was excellent for its time and came with beige for the seats and door trims.
