But, it is definitely smoother than previous Pulsars and is not quite there compared to something like Yamaha FZ25. At higher RPMs you can feel some vibes.

I'd say it's pretty close. This engine is really something that Bajaj has turned up a notch or two. It's smooth enough to ride day to day, and it doesn't feel buzzy like older models.
How does the Pulsar N250’s engine refinement compare to its Japanese rivals?

I’ve owned both Indian and Japanese bikes, and I think the N250 is a good balance. It's not the cost of Japanese bikes, but refined enough for most riders.
How does the Pulsar N250’s engine refinement compare to its Japanese rivals?
30 January 2025 09:34
It's good refinement, but it's the torque that really makes the difference. Even in this segment, some Japanese bikes struggle to pull cleanly from low RPMs, but it does.

It’s still not as butter smooth as a Honda, but it’s a massive step up. In addition, it’s more charismatic and more engaging to ride.

I did 500km on the N250 and was impressed at how smooth it remained. Maybe not Japanese-level refinement, but definitely good enough for long rides.
How does the Pulsar N250’s engine refinement compare to its Japanese rivals?

The engine is smooth, but I reckon the overall refinement also owes to things like switchgear quality and fit and finish where Bajaj still has some catching up to do.

The beam spread could be better, but it’s definitely brighter than the old halogen lights. I still want more illumination on dark highways.

I'm impressed with it. It lights up the sides of the road very well and the throw is good. Much better than my old Pulsar 220F.

It's a mixed bag. Good for city riding but on pitch dark roads I miss the warmth and depth of a good halogen setup.

It's also crisp and clear LED which is great for spotting potholes. In foggy conditions, it can be a little glarey, but that’s it.

I also added auxiliary lights to go along with the stock LED. Together, they're awesome. The stock light is just alright, not game changing stuff.

The auto headlamp feature is the real game changer, the light is good. Especially when entering tunnels or underpasses, it’s so convenient.
Is the 2 channel ABS on the Pulsar N250 overkill for a 250cc bike?
30 January 2025 09:34
No, not overkill at all. It doesn't matter what engine size, safety should never be compromised. With the 2 channel ABS you have that extra bit of confidence when the emergency situation comes up or in wet conditions.
Is the 2 channel ABS on the Pulsar N250 overkill for a 250cc bike?
30 January 2025 09:34
I'd say it's a bit much. It would have been enough with a single channel ABS, which would have allowed keeping the price lower. After all, most riders in this segment are budget conscious.
Is the 2 channel ABS on the Pulsar N250 overkill for a 250cc bike?
30 January 2025 09:34
I’m all for it, as someone who’s had a few close calls. It is better to have it and not need it, than to not have it and need it. It’s also a great learning tool for newer riders.

30 January 2025 09:34
Of course it's overkill for city riding, but if you're planning long trips or getting into twisties, that extra braking control could be a lifesaver.

30 January 2025 09:34
I think it's more future proofing. Bajaj is smart to introduce it now, since regulations are getting stricter. It will soon become the norm anyway.

Honestly, it's a marketing gimmick. In real world scenarios, most riders won’t even notice the difference between single and dual channel ABS.
