In heavy traffic, how does the NS200 fare?

It's perfect for city riding for me. It's comfortable to sit in, the mirrors are good, the brakes are responsive – all important when you're on busy streets. It’s a bit heavy, but you soon become used to it.

In fact, I actually changed my bike from a small bike to the NS200, which I don't regret. In traffic, it just feels more stable, especially against uneven roads or sudden objects. The extra power is also useful for quick overtakes when traffic becomes available too.

Not the best, not the worst. When you stop and start all the time, the weight is noticeable. It makes up for it, though, with the commanding riding position and good low end torque. If you want a bike that can do both city traffic and weekend riding duty, I'd say that's a good compromise.
Is the hype around the Pulsar NS200 justified?
30 January 2025 09:49
Absolutely worth it! In its segment, the NS200 is a beast. I've been riding one for 2 years and have loved it. It looks damn good, handling is crisp, and power delivery is smooth. Plus, the bike is relatively easy maintenance when compared to other bikes at this price range.
Is the hype around the Pulsar NS200 justified?
30 January 2025 09:49
Overhyped, in my opinion. It’s a decent bike, but there are better bikes out there. But the KTM Duke 200 comes out as a better performer and better built all around. Plastic quality of the NS200 feels cheap compared to that of the NS500, and the high speed vibrations can be annoying.
Is the hype around the Pulsar NS200 justified?

It all depends on what you’re looking for. The NS200 is a good bike if you want one that works good for city riding as well as for occasional highway rides. It’s not the best at everything, but does most things well. It really is all round for the hype.
Is the hype around the Pulsar NS200 justified?
30 January 2025 09:49
I'd say it's slightly overhyped. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good bike but it hasn’t evolved much since its launch. To compete, Bajaj has to bring something more to the table, better features and refinement. For instance, the instrument look outdated as compared to latestbikes.
Is the hype around the Pulsar NS200 justified?

What the NS200 offers at its price point deserves the hype. The bike is very fun to ride, has a strong engine and it looks sporty. But, before buying, be aware that Bajaj's after sales service can be either hit or miss.
Is the hype around the Pulsar NS200 justified?
30 January 2025 09:49
I still think it's a relevant choice in 2024. The NS200 is a proven track record and has a strong owners community. Spare parts are also easy to find and mechanics who know what they are doing on it. It’s that peace of mind that’s worth something, especially to new riders.
Is the hype around the Pulsar NS200 justified?
30 January 2025 09:49
When it was launched, the hype was justified, but it feels a little long in the tooth these days. To compete with newer bikes like the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V or the Yamaha MT 15, Bajaj has to give it a serious update. It's not the cutting edge bike it once was, but it's still a good bike.
Does the NS200 hold up on long rides?
30 January 2025 09:49
I've ridden my NS200 multiple 500+ km rides and it handles them like a champ. It’s comfortable for long hours in an upright seating position and the engine is smooth enough to cruise the highway. You just add a small windscreen and you're good to go!
Does the NS200 hold up on long rides?
30 January 2025 09:49
For short trips it's decent, but it's not good for serious touring. After a couple of hours the seat gets uncomfortable, and the lack of wind protection at highway speeds is a real issue. For long rides, you’d be better off with something like Dominar 400.

With a few mods, the NS200 makes for a great tourer. I've added a gel seat cover, tank bag and small windscreen. These changes made all of the difference on my 1000 km round trip. In fact, the bike's nimble handling is actually an advantage on twisty mountain roads.
Does the NS200 hold up on long rides?

A jack of all trades, a master of none. The NS200 can do long rides, but it’s not designed for it. It also has a small fuel tank, so you stop quite often and the vibrations can become tiring after a while. Being okay with occasional weekend trips, but I wouldn’t like the touring extensively.
Does the NS200 hold up on long rides?
30 January 2025 09:49
People don't give it credit for as much as I think it is capable of. It soaks up bumps quite well, and the power is enough to go overtake on highways. Yes, it’s not as comfy as a proper tourer, but it’s versatile enough for most people’s needs.
Does the NS200 hold up on long rides?
30 January 2025 09:49
They’re doable, but not really ideal. The biggest problem for me is the heat from the engine on long rides in traffic. In hot weather it can get really uncomfortable. You may want to consider other options if you’re planning a lot of touring.
Does the NS200 hold up on long rides?
30 January 2025 09:49
It's all about expectations. Of course, if you’re comparing it to bigger touring bikes, it does fall short. However, its class and price point for the NS200 is surprisingly good for long rides. You will be fine if you just plan for more frequent breaks.
Does the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 live up to the hype?
30 January 2025 09:44
It’s been a blast and I’ve had my NS160 over a year now. In city traffic it's super nimble and it has enough punch for highway rides too. Yes, it’s a little bit more expensive than other 160cc bikes, but I think the whole package is worth it. It turns heads wherever I go with the sporty looks.
Does the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 live up to the hype?
30 January 2025 09:44
I test rode the NS160 and wasn’t impressed meh. At higher revs the engine felt vibey, and the saddle became uncomfortable for long rides. At this price I would prefer to buy TVS Apache RTR 160 4V since it has better refinement and features.
Does the Bajaj Pulsar NS160 live up to the hype?

Having been a mechanic I have worked on a lot of NS160s. Decent bikes, but I've seen some QC issues. Over time the plastics rattle, and some electrical niggles pop up. If you are getting one, you had better follow the service schedule that religiously.
