Is the Chetak 2903 TecPac's range anxiety making it impractical for Indian cities?

Most city commutes are plenty with 123 km. Range anxiety is not a problem for me since I rarely ride more than 50-60 km a day. All you have to do is charge it overnight and you’re good to go!
Is the Chetak 2903 TecPac's range anxiety making it impractical for Indian cities?

It's definitely close. In cities like Mumbai or Bangalore, traffic is brutal and you’ll be worried about running out of juice all the time. At least 150-200 km range I'd feel more comfortable with.
Is the Chetak 2903 TecPac's range anxiety making it impractical for Indian cities?

It really depends on what you need. It’s fine for short commutes and running errands. If you're a delivery rider or need to travel between cities, it's probably not enough.

The range is good, but it’s the lack of charging infrastructure that really is the problem. Until we have more public charging stations, you’ll be nervous about any electric scooter.

I actually think it's pretty practical. Most people don’t ride as much as they think they do. And, if you need to, you can always top up the charge at work or shopping.

The TecPac version has better range management features so you may get more out of those 123 km than you think. All depends on how you ride and plan the trips.

It’s true, range anxiety is real, but it’s also something you get used to. After a few weeks, you’ll know what’s possible and plan accordingly. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker for me.
Given the feature & brand value, is price of Chetak 2903 TecPac justifiable?
14 January 2025 11:08
It's overpriced for what you get, I think. For less money you can find electric scooters with similar or better specs. The premium for the Chetak name is not worth it.

When you take into account the quality of the build and brand reliability, you get a fair price. A cheaper option would be just money saver upfront while Bajaj's service network and access to spares might make you fork out more on all.

It's a little pricey, but you're also paying for the style and brand, as much as the features. If you want your ride to look and feel good, it’s worth it.

The value that TecPac features add is a lot. The extra connectively and riding modes bring it up to premium price while making the price bump over the base model justified.

It's expensive compared to petrol scooters. Add in long term savings on fuel and maintenance and it suddenly makes a bit more sense economically, too.

It's a little on the pricey side but not by too much. The fit and finish is supposed to be really good, which is a lot in day to day use.

It’s a good value for city use. What you get is a reliable, low maintenance vehicle that has just enough tech to keep things interesting. I think the price is fair for what it is.

I’ve ridden my Chetak through a Delhi summer and it fared pretty good. But the range does suffer a bit when it's really hot, though not quite as much as I thought it would. It looks like the cooling system does its job.

At first, monsoon season was a bit nerve wracking, but the Chetak did a better job with water logged streets than I thought it would. You just had to be careful with deep puddles. No electrical issues so far.

The range is definitely affected by the summer heat but I've found that parking in the shade and riding early morning or evening helps a lot. It’s all about changing your habits.
