It's a game changer in city traffic by the instant torque. Petrol scooters can’t zip away from signals or navigate through gaps nearly as easily as you can.

I miss a petrol engine for the sound and the vibration. Even if it’s more efficient, the Chetak feels a bit soulless in comparison.

It’s a bummer that the top speed is limited. On open roads or highways, you feel restricted, but it’s fine for the city. I just wish they’d bump it up to at least 80 km/h.

It’s great performance-wise for commuting. The linear power delivery moves smoothly, a relaxing feature when stuck in traffic. It is not as exciting as a petrol sporty scooter.

In fact, I like the electric performance more. It has no clutch, no gears, you just twist and go. This makes riding in stop and go traffic much less tiring.

The Chetak is good enough to keep up with most 125cc petrol scooters for pure acceleration. The difference doesn't really show up until you're going a higher speed.

The retro design is brilliant I think. It's not a generic looking EV, and it has a cool vintage vibe. It'll also appeal to the nostalgic older riders and hipster youngsters.

Is TecPac’s Chetak 2903 retro design a hit or miss?

It's a miss for me. The problem is that their retro look limits what they can do with the design and features. I’d rather something more practical and less nostalgic.
