Is the Chetak 2903 TecPac's range anxiety making it impractical for Indian cities?

It claims a range of 123 km on a single charge. On paper, this might sound good, but in the real world Indian cities can have a massive impact on range. In addition to heavy traffic, extreme temperatures and the amount of time you have to run the air con can see off the battery quicker. Moreover, range anxiety is also caused because of the limited buildup of charging infrastructure in various places. Is this range enough for daily commuters or for those making multiple stops a day? How is it compared to the average day to day riding needs in Indian cities? How convenient is it to charge at home, and how much does it matter that you can't go as far as you'd like?

Most city commutes are plenty with 123 km. Range anxiety is not a problem for me since I rarely ride more than 50-60 km a day. All you have to do is charge it overnight and you’re good to go!

It's definitely close. In cities like Mumbai or Bangalore, traffic is brutal and you’ll be worried about running out of juice all the time. At least 150-200 km range I'd feel more comfortable with.

It really depends on what you need. It’s fine for short commutes and running errands. If you're a delivery rider or need to travel between cities, it's probably not enough.

The range is good, but it’s the lack of charging infrastructure that really is the problem. Until we have more public charging stations, you’ll be nervous about any electric scooter.

I actually think it's pretty practical. Most people don’t ride as much as they think they do. And, if you need to, you can always top up the charge at work or shopping.

The TecPac version has better range management features so you may get more out of those 123 km than you think. All depends on how you ride and plan the trips.

It’s true, range anxiety is real, but it’s also something you get used to. After a few weeks, you’ll know what’s possible and plan accordingly. I don’t think it’s a deal breaker for me.
