Volkswagen Vento Diesel Comfortline Automatic

About
The Volkswagen Vento Diesel Comfortline Automatic is a well-rounded compact sedan that excels in several key areas. Powered by a 1.5L diesel engine producing 108 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, it is paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox that provides seamless gear shifts. The car boasts a solid build quality, typical of German engineering, and offers excellent ride and handling characteristics. Features like automatic climate control, rear AC vents, parking sensors, and a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enhance the comfort and convenience. Safety is also well taken care of with up to four airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. While the design may not be the most modern, the Ventos performance, fuel efficiency, and overall driving experience make it a compelling choice in its segment.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Volkswagen Vento Diesel Comfortline Automatic is a solid choice for those seeking a blend of performance, comfort, and reliability. Despite its aged design, the Vento still impresses with its robust German build quality and excellent on-road dynamics. The 1.5L diesel engine, paired with the 7-speed DSG gearbox, offers a smooth and refined driving experience, although it does come with a noticeable turbo lag at lower speeds. Once past this lag, the engine delivers strong mid-range and top-end performance, making it a joy to drive on both city roads and highways. The suspension is commendable in masking road undulations, and the steering is precise and responsive. However, the lack of modern features and a somewhat dated design might be a turn-off for some. Overall, its a great option for those who value driving dynamics and build quality over the latest in-car technology.
Price
The Volkswagen Vento Diesel Comfortline Automatic is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for this variant is around Rs. 9.99 Lakh, depending on the location. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other taxes, the price can go up to around Rs. 12-13 Lakh. This pricing makes it a viable option in the compact sedan segment, especially considering its performance and build quality. However, its important to note that prices can vary slightly based on the state and city you are in due to different tax structures.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 08:01 AM The Volkswagen Vento Comfortline Diesel Automatic, powered by a 1.5 TDI engine and a 7-speed DSG gearbox, is priced at around Rs. 13.79 lakh in Delhi. This variant features 15-inch steel wheels, 3D effect tail lamps, and a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel. It also includes safety features like dual front airbags and ABS. I think the combination of the TDI engine and DSG gearbox makes it a compelling choice for those seeking both performance and convenience.
Friday, 12 October 2018 04:05 PM Volkswagen introduced the Connect Edition for the Vento, which includes an intelligent connected vehicle assistance system. This system allows customers to connect to the cars system via an app, providing more information about the car. While this update was not specific to the Comfortline Diesel Automatic, it enhanced the overall appeal of the Vento lineup. I think this technology adds a modern touch to the vehicle.
Sunday, 04 March 2018 03:43 AM Volkswagen has introduced the Vento Sport Edition, which, although primarily a cosmetic update, retains the mechanicals of the current Vento models, including the Comfortline Diesel Automatic. This edition brings sporty visual upgrades, making the Vento more appealing to those who want a stylish and performance-oriented sedan. I believe the sporty tweaks will appeal to a younger demographic.
Wednesday, 05 April 2017 04:54 PM The Vento Comfortline Diesel Automatic comes with a range of features, including power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, and an audio system with 4 speakers. It also includes safety features such as front fog lamps with static cornering lights and ABS. The cars interior, while not overly luxurious, is functional and comfortable. I think the feature set is well-balanced for its price segment.
Monday, 14 November 2016 12:07 PM Volkswagen India has updated the Vento with a new 1.5-litre diesel engine, which has been tweaked to increase power output. This update is part of Volkswagens efforts to enhance the performance of their diesel lineup, including the Vento. The new engine maintains the same torque of 250 Nm but offers improved driveability. I believe this update will make the Vento more attractive to buyers looking for a powerful yet efficient sedan.
Friday, 01 April 2016 01:14 PM Volkswagen India recalled 3877 units of the Vento diesel due to issues with exceeding Carbon Monoxide (CO) emissions. This recall affected various variants, including the Comfortline Diesel Automatic. The company took proactive steps to rectify the issue, ensuring the vehicles meet the necessary emission standards. I think this move shows Volkswagens commitment to safety and compliance.
Monday, 23 March 2015 07:42 PM The Volkswagen Vento Comfortline Diesel Automatic is known for its fuel efficiency, with an ARAI mileage of 21.50 kmpl. Real-world mileage can vary, but owners have reported figures close to this, making it a good choice for those who drive long distances regularly. I believe the fuel efficiency is a significant selling point for this vehicle.
Monday, 23 March 2015 04:40 PM Volkswagen has been working on a facelift for the Vento, which was expected to launch in the second half of 2015. Although the facelift did not significantly alter the design, it brought some minor updates to keep the model fresh in the market. I think these updates were necessary to keep the Vento competitive in the C-segment sedan market.
Saturday, 18 October 2014 02:09 PM The Volkswagen Vento Comfortline Diesel Automatic has been praised for its ride quality and handling. The suspension, particularly the McPherson strut with stabiliser bar at the front and semi-independent trailing arm at the rear, does a good job of masking road undulations. However, some owners have noted a slight noise from the rear suspension at high speeds, which can be mitigated by adjusting the tire pressure. I think the overall ride quality is one of the Ventos strong points.
Saturday, 18 October 2014 11:33 AM The Vento Comfortline Diesel Automatic features a 7-speed DSG gearbox, which provides smooth and quick gear shifts. However, some owners have noted a slight delay when shifting from standstill to moving, but this does not significantly impact the overall driving experience. I believe the DSG gearbox is one of the highlights of this vehicle.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 12:39 PM The Volkswagen Vento Diesel Comfortline Automatic offers impressive fuel efficiency, which is a significant factor for many buyers in India. With an ARAI-certified mileage of 22.15 kmpl, this car is one of the more fuel-efficient options in its segment. In real-world conditions, you can expect a mileage of around 18-20 kmpl, which is still quite commendable. This makes the Vento a cost-effective choice for both city driving and long road trips.
