The decision was made as the company chose not to upgrade the Etios to meet the new BS6 emission standards. This move has shifted Toyotas focus towards other models like the Yaris and the Glanza, a rebadged Maruti Suzuki Baleno. I think this was a necessary step to comply with environmental regulations, but its sad to see such a reliable car go.
