About
The Tata Manza Diesel EX is a mid-size sedan that was introduced as an evolution of the Tata Indigo. It features a 1.3-liter Quadrajet diesel engine producing 88.76 bhp and 200 Nm of torque, paired with a manual transmission. The car is known for its spacious interior, with ample legroom and comfort in the rear seats, making it ideal for family use. The ride quality is superb, and the car handles well, although the steering can feel slightly heavy in city driving. The Manza also comes with a range of features including automatic climate control, parking sensors, and a well-equipped dashboard. Despite some minor issues with fit and finish, the Manza offers excellent value for its price, making it a practical and comfortable choice for Indian roads. Its large 460-liter boot and foldable rear seats add to its utility, making it a versatile option for various needs.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Tata Manza Diesel EX is a well-rounded family sedan that offers a compelling package of comfort, space, and value for money. One of the standout features is its exceptional ride quality, which makes it a joy to drive both in the city and on the highway. The diesel engine, although slightly sluggish in city driving, provides excellent fuel efficiency and a smooth driving experience once you hit the higher gears. The interior space is generous, with rear seat comfort that rivals cars from higher segments. However, there are areas for improvement, such as the fit and finish of the interior, which, while better than its predecessors, still lag behind some competitors. The braking system is another highlight, with well-calibrated ABS that ensures safe and stable stops. Overall, the Manza is a solid choice for those seeking a practical and comfortable family car.
Price
The Tata Manza Diesel EX, although no longer in production, can still be considered in the used car market. When it was available, the ex-showroom price ranged from approximately Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 8.80 lakh, depending on the trim and features. On-road prices would have been slightly higher, factoring in taxes, registration, and other costs, typically ranging from Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 11 lakh. Given its current status as a discontinued model, prices in the used car market will vary based on the cars condition, mileage, and location. However, its value-for-money proposition remains strong, making it a viable option for those looking for a reliable and spacious sedan without breaking the bank.
Latest Updates

Tata Motors has officially discontinued the sale of the Tata Manza sedan, removing it from their lineup. This decision was made due to the cars failure to gain traction as a personal vehicle, largely because it was associated with the Indigo, which is commonly used as a taxi. Despite a facelift and rebranding as the Club Class, the Manza couldnt overcome its image issue. I believe this was a necessary step for Tata to focus on more successful models.

The Tata Manza Diesel EX, with its 1.3-liter Quadrajet engine, offered impressive fuel efficiency, reaching up to 21.12 kmpl. This engine, along with well-calculated gear ratios, made the Manza a strong contender in the diesel segment. I think the fuel efficiency was one of the standout features of this car.

Tata Manzas design was a significant improvement over its predecessor, the Indigo. The car featured a more integrated boot design and better exterior fit and finish, thanks to being assembled on the same production line as the Fiat Linea. However, some interior fitments still had room for improvement. I believe the exterior design was a major step forward for Tata.

The Tata Manza Diesel EX came with several notable features, including an anti-lock braking system (ABS), which provided smooth and quick stops. The car also had a well-weighted steering and an excellent braking system, making it safe and comfortable to drive. I think the safety features were a highlight of this model.

Tata Manzas pricing was aggressive, with the base diesel variant starting at around Rs. 5.91 lakh. This made it a competitive option against other sedans like the Swift Dzire and Renault Logan. The cars value-for-money proposition was one of its key selling points. I believe the pricing strategy was spot on for the Indian market.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 05:29 AM
The Tata Manza Diesel EX boasts impressive fuel efficiency, making it a cost-effective choice for daily driving. The ARAI-certified mileage stands at 21.12 kmpl, and real-world usage reports suggest it can deliver around 16-17 kmpl in mixed driving conditions, with city driving yielding around 13-14 kmpl. This makes it an attractive option for those concerned about running costs, especially for long commutes or frequent highway trips.
