The B200 CDI and B200d models, although similar, have some key differences. The B200d features an individual driving mode and a piechart eco display, unlike the graph display in the B200 CDI. Additionally, the B200d supports Apple CarPlay activators only from December 2015 onwards. I think these small tweaks can make a significant difference in the driving experience.

The Mercedes B-Class B200d, the successor to the B200 CDI, boasts a 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 148hp, making it a strong contender in the MPV segment. This engine delivers its maximum pulling power low in the rev range, making it punchy around town. I think this makes it an excellent choice for those who need a reliable and powerful diesel option.

With the recent facelift, the B-Class has seen minimal exterior changes but significant interior upgrades, including twin 10.25-inch screens and new touchpads on the steering wheel. However, these touchpads have been criticized for being fiddly and less user-friendly than the old hardware switches. I believe these updates are a step towards modernity, but they need to balance technology with usability.

Mercedes has streamlined the engine options for the B-Class, now offering only a 1.3-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel. The diesel option, in particular, is praised for its efficiency and smooth power delivery. I believe this simplification helps in making the buying decision easier for customers.

The B-Class has been recognized for its safety features, earning a five-star rating from Euro NCAP in 2019. It also comes equipped with advanced safety technologies like automatic emergency braking and lane-keeping assistance, making it a solid choice for families. I think this emphasis on safety is a major selling point for the B-Class.
