USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Swift Automatic, specifically the 2010 model, is a vehicle that stands out for its blend of style, performance, and practicality, although it is important to note that the 2010 model did not come with an automatic transmission it was available only with manual transmissions. However, if we consider the overall package of the manual variants, the Swift is a solid choice. It offers a comfortable ride, excellent fuel economy, and robust performance, making it a great city commuter and highway cruiser. The cars handling and driving position are commendable, and it has a reputation for being reliable and easy to maintain. While the build quality and safety features might not be as advanced as newer models, the Swifts enduring popularity speaks to its inherent strengths.
Price
The Maruti Swift 2010 models, being discontinued, do not have current ex-showroom or on-road prices. However, during its time, the prices ranged from approximately Rs. 4.77 lakh for the base LXI petrol model to Rs. 6.71 lakh for the top ZDi diesel model. If you are considering purchasing a pre-owned 2010 Swift, prices would vary based on the condition, mileage, and location of the vehicle. On average, you could expect to pay between Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh, depending on these factors. Its crucial to inspect the vehicle thoroughly and negotiate based on its condition to get the best value.
Latest Updates
Friday, 26 August 2011 09:25 PM In 2011, Maruti Suzuki introduced the second-generation Swift, which included minor updates but no automatic transmission option. However, the car saw significant changes in its exterior and interior design, with a sleeker look and improved cabin space. The second-gen Swift retained the same engine options but lost some of its enthusiast-focused driving dynamics. I think this update was a step in the right direction for comfort, but it slightly compromised on the fun factor.
Wednesday, 16 June 2010 12:54 AM In 2010, Maruti Suzuki released a limited edition Swift called the Champion Edition, which featured new sporty bumpers. Although this was not an automatic version, it marked a period of continuous updates to the Swift lineup. This edition was part of Marutis strategy to keep the Swift fresh and appealing to consumers. I believe such limited editions help keep the model relevant between major updates.
Monday, 10 May 2010 01:34 PM The 2010 model year saw Maruti Swift receive a mild face-lift, including revisions to its gears and suspension for a better ride. However, this update did not include an automatic transmission option. The focus was on enhancing the overall driving experience and comfort. I think these tweaks were essential for maintaining the Swifts popularity.
Tuesday, 20 April 2010 08:57 AM Although the Maruti Swift Automatic was not introduced until the 2018 model, the groundwork for future automatic versions was laid during the 2010 updates. These updates set the stage for more significant changes in later models, including the eventual introduction of automatic transmissions. I think this gradual approach helped Maruti gauge market demand before making bigger changes.
Monday, 15 March 2010 02:31 PM Prior to the 2010 updates, the Maruti Swift was known for its manual transmission options only. The lack of an automatic transmission was a notable omission, especially considering the growing demand for automatics in the Indian market. This gap would be addressed in later models, but in 2010, the focus was on refining the existing manual transmission models. I believe this was a missed opportunity to capture a larger market share earlier.
Wednesday, 10 February 2010 10:10 AM The 2010 Maruti Swift updates did not include any significant technological advancements like automatic transmissions. Instead, the focus was on cosmetic and mechanical tweaks to improve the overall driving experience. This approach helped maintain the Swifts position in the market but did not address the emerging need for automatic transmissions. I think this conservative approach was necessary to ensure the models stability before introducing more radical changes.
Wednesday, 20 January 2010 11:15 PM In the lead-up to the 2010 updates, there was speculation about whether Maruti Suzuki would introduce an automatic transmission for the Swift. However, these updates did not materialize with an automatic option. The company continued to focus on its manual transmission models, which remained popular. I believe this decision was based on market demand at the time, but it left a gap for competitors to fill.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 01:47 PM The mileage of the Maruti Swift 2010 is quite impressive, with the manual petrol variant offering around 18.6 kmpl and the manual diesel variant providing up to 22.9 kmpl, according to ARAI certifications. In real-world conditions, users have reported mileage figures close to these numbers, making the Swift a cost-effective choice for daily driving. This fuel efficiency is a significant factor to consider when evaluating running costs, especially for those who drive extensively.

Swift Zxi 1.2L K-Series 2011

I bought this car from 2011 and It's 1.2L K-Series ZXI variant which is the first K-series engine of Maruti, the mileage is increased bit like 2-4 kmpl. The performance of the engine is excellent, but still does not match the performance of 1.3 G13B older engine of esteem which was faster than 1.2 but still this car is very good. The suspension is stiffer side and bit heavy to control but the feedback of the steering is just Fabulous, body roll is decent, ABS, EBD and climate control is my favourite feature if we are talking about build quality It's 1000x times much better than current swift the reliability is brilliant as an enthusiast practicality is decent. That's it.

Best Features: ABS,EBD and climate control is the best feature in ZXI variant.

Pros: The performance of the engine is fantastic, Build quality is 1000x times much better than new 3rd gen swift and 2nd gen stability is great the stiffness of the suspension.

Cons: Alloys size could have been 15 inch, rattling from dashboard, music system is not that great, the quality of plastics.
